I've gotten my own gown and my bridesmaids all got their dresses there and they were fantastic to work with! They told me February and March are always busy because of proms and spring weddings for the next year. So weekends in that time are crazy. I went during the week for my dress and was 1 of 2 people in the store. I feel they seem to always have some type of sale going on

Our bridesmaid dresses came from there. However I dont care for them much. I feel like everything is too similar and not unique. I've had good service but I went in december and then again in January. Make an appointment if you go but dont expect too much help.

They're always having sales! Haha. I had a good experience when I went, it was on a Friday evening and we were pretty much alone in the store. However, my consultant wasn't like super encouraging or into it (not that they always have to be, but it does help) and I ended up finding a dress I liked better elsewhere. It wasn't bad service, but it paled in comparison to when I went to a local salon.

I had an appointment during the week. I showed up early, my consultant was late. I had “pinned” like 20 dresses off their website. The only 2 they had were the 2 I tried on and I had to grab them. I was there for over an hr and tried on the 2 dresses. The lady they put me with was no help at all. She helped me into a dress, barley, and walked away. Finally I told my mom take it off me we’re leaving.
Me and my sister went into browse the bridesmaid dresses to maybe get an idea but we just left. After that i wouldn’t even consider walking in that store.
I didn’t even feel like they had great dresses. It I know plenty of people who have gotten their dresses their.

I got my wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses from there and had the best experience. They were helpful and friendly. I went to other local salons and had such bad experiences. David's bridal was the best experience I had dress shopping. I went during a weekday in april.

I got my dress and bm dresses from there, I made an appt and had the best time. I had a vision of what I wanted they showed me those abs I tried on a few them my consultant suggested something a little different that she thought would look great on my body type and work well with my beach wedding and she was right! That's the dress I fell in love with nothing like what I had in mind but she listened to me ans made suggestions same for my bm she made great suggestions and were had a great experience.

I've had two totally different experiences. When I went with my mom to scout bridesmaid gowns its was horrible, just totally overwhelming and crowded. Then we went to a smaller one near her to pick out shoes and it was fantastic. My wedding gals also had a good experience choosing and ordering their gowns (I just gave them length and color).

    (I didn't buy my dress from David’s)

I went there today and had the worst experience! We had an appointment and we got there 5 minutes early because we knew we wouldn’t be able to do much until our appointment time but we still wanted to be a little early. So we arrive early& the lady at the frost desk was so annoyed that we got their a few minutes early& was very snotty in telling us that we couldn’t do anything but look until our consultant was ready for us. So I’m already a little frustrated just because she was so rude about it, but we decided to walk around and look at the dresses and they just didn’t have a whole lot of dresses to look at. Our consultant finally greets us and take us back and I’m telling her what styles I like and what I’m looking for and she leaves and comes back with dresses that were nothing like what I was looking for& when I tried to tell her this she tried to convince me that I would love these much more.. I didn’t.. needless to say we left after trying on 3 dress and bought a dress elsewhere.

I bought my dress from David’s! I had an awesome experience there! My consultant was very helpful and brought me a bunch of dresses based on the pictures I showed her. She also picked out a couple of dresses that she thought would look good on my figure as well as go with the theme of my wedding (redwoods in December). One of the dresses that she chose actually ended up being the dress I bought!

I have the best David's Bridal by my house but like PP's have said, it really depends on the store what kind of experience you are going to have. That's retail unfortunately, and it can be like that for most retail chains.

I would say go in with an open mind. I got my dress there and love my dress and my experience, no I wasn't handed a glass of champagne or surrounded with fancy furnishings, but my dress is perfect and it was less than $400 for a Vera White collection dress. The money I saved with this amazing dress means I can go the store and buy an expensive bottle of champagne to celebrate at home with my friends. I couldn't have asked for better associates to help me, it was fun, they helped me find exactly what I was looking for (and I didn't even know I was looking for this one) and am so glad I made my appointment. I was married before and had a Maggie Sottero gown. That gown was over $4k and 8 years after our wedding, carting it around move after move, I gave it to a second hand store.

I also suggest making an appointment and avoiding weekends at all cost. I went one time for a Bridesmaid appt with a friend of mine on a Saturday and it was chaos. On the flip side, I had my appointment for my dress on a Thursday evening and I was one of maybe 3 people in the entire store and the only one trying on dresses. It was a truly night and day difference.

They always have some kind of sale going on but I got lucky and got my dress when they offered 30% off full priced gowns back in January. I went in to search for shoes and get color swatches the other day and Bridal dresses were on sale for 10%.

Avoid weekends if possible and if you can’t, make an appointment, in fact make an appointment for any day there. I had a good experience and it seems to be very location dependent. I had a great consultant there, who chose all the right dress styles, of course a few different ones, and was encouraging. I got my oldest daughter’s bridesmaid dress there and had an equally good experience.

I disliked david's bridal probably 100% for wedding dresses. People have good experiences there I guess but I don't think they cater at all to smaller woman, at least my store near me. They had nothing smaller than a size 12 for me to try on which was ridiculous and their variety was poor. Nothing with a long train, mostly all ball gowns or a line. I think they're only good for bridesmaid dresses. I think it's all dependent on your style too. If you see dresses online you like from them, then go for it.

My bridesmaids got their dresses there and we had a great experience. I felt like they gave us the perfect balance of helping us at our appointment and leaving us to look at stuff on our own. I personally don't like when they stand over you the whole time so this was perfect. They also had a huge selection of styles, colors, and sizes in store so all my girls of all sizes got to try stuff on which was really important to me. I wanted everyone to feel included and we had previously went to a more local store that only carried sample sizes so some of my girls were left out. They all placed their orders on their own time online and everything came super fast and with no issues.

We went on a Saturday around noon I believe in August. It was a little busy but not horrible. However, we did have an appointment and I would recommend doing that as opposed to just stopping in.

I had a great experience there. They were able to do some customization on my dress that looks great. Picked up my dress last week I did notice how hectic the store was compared to when I bought my dress (May last year). I wouldn't recommend going right now during prom season. I also made an appointment for early on a Saturday morning and they weren't busy at all. My dress is very very similar to one I saw online, but it only cost $800 versus the $4k it would have been at a boutique store.

I think it depends what store you are at!
Mine was HORRIBLE, but I did end up getting my dress from there. When I arrived the consultant didn't ask anything about what I liked, I even came with pictures of what I was looking for. Everything I said I didn't like after trying on the dress, she would pull the next dress with more of that particular item. My sister went against her "rules" of other people not pulling dresses, and actually found my dress I bought. I Picked out a veil that never came in because she forgot to add it to my order, AND my dress came in bright pink instead of white...

If you can work the sales they have and get someone who works with you, I'd say go for it. But this has been mine, and most of my friends experiences unfortunately...

Davids in Paramus NJ was an amazing experience for my fiance! Everything you want in a bridal dress salon and more. The consultant helped my fiance try on a bunch of dresses and was so very attentive to her. The whole David's team worked so well together, they all were so very helpful, Truly perfect, HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I did get an e-mail that they have $99 clearance dresses going on right now.

As far as my experience- not great, but it depends on what you're looking for. If you want WHITE and a lot of bling, they might not have the dress for you.

I only had 1 appointment and my associate was sweet as could be, but the dresses she kept bringing were note what I wanted... at all. I had let her know that we wanted to focus on finding the right shape, a WHITE dress (not ivory, off-white, or anything else), I love bling and sparkle, strapless sweetheart neckline, and let her know I was NOT a huge fan of lace. EVERYTHING she brought was very ivory and almost head to toe lace, only 1 of them had any jewel embellishment. We took a few minutes after the appointment to browse more through the dresses they had on the floor, and even there I did not see any worth coming back to try on, and even on their website there were only 2 or 3 I REALLY wanted to get into, none of which they had in-store.
