David's Bridal store vs online dress drama

Gingerkid, on June 16, 2016 at 6:15 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3

So it might be obvious to some, but i had to learn the hard way that in person for a little more always trumps a sale online. I had tried on a dress I fell in love with at my local David's Bridal in a size smaller than i normally wear, naturally it was too small and i wasnt ready to commit to a dress yet. After thinking about it for a bit I decided I wanted to go with the dress after all, so I looked it up online and it was cheaper than it was in store so I excitedly ordered it a size bigger than the one I tried on in the store. Because I'm plus sized evidently they had to specially make it for me, so I got it this past Friday and excitedly went home on my lunch break to try it on. I was devastated when I discovered it didn't fit, not only did it not fit, but it didn't fit by a lot! I called up the online customer service and they basically told me too bad, they couldn't and wouldn't exchange or return it. Soul crushing is a pretty good way to describe how that news felt.

Well, today I went to my local David's Bridal and explained the situation, while the sales girls were rude and of no help, the store manager and assistant manager came over and took a look and low and behold they had sent me the wrong size, I knew I wasn't crazy! Anyway, long story short, too late I know, the store managers were able to get me a refund and I couldn't be more grateful! From now on, when in person is an option I'm taking it over a deal online. I know this is kind of random, but I needed to share with people who would understand the frustration!

I had a BM dress that DB gave me a size 22 instead of a 12! I had a friend pick up the dress for me and my receipt on the bag said 12, but when I put on the dress I was a lot bigger. I called them immediately and let them know the mistake and they were able to get me the correct size. It was just a pain bc DB is an hour away from me and this was a week before the wedding.

It does make me very curious why you have to order dresses months in advance, when they were able to replace mine for the correct size no problem? Hmm...

I'm glad it worked out for you Smiley smile
