Davids Bridal Pictures???

TeamGrz, on June 4, 2017 at 11:46 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 22

I have an appointment at a local davids bridal this week. I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not they allow you to take pictures during the appointments for comparison/reference.

Also, is there any other must needed advice for dress shopping. It is just going to be my mom and I this first time.

The one I went to did allow pictures.

Advice? Bring your own shoes. Even though they may be a different height etc. then the ones you end up with... but bring some that make you feel confident.

    ETA: autocorrect.

Both of the David's Bridal locations allowed it and even encouraged it.

I had a horrible experience at my davids bridal. Make sure they take your measurements and not just order your dress by pant size. also make sure you stick with the people you talked to about your dress like the dress consultant and alterations department as well as manger.

Pictures are usually allowed, especially if you say yes to the dress. My advice is to wear similar shoes as you will be wearing your wedding day yo make sure you get the height right, though that's more into alterations. But you'll need to know if you can walk in your dress with your shoes!

I also recommend getting a short video of your favorite dress(es). Just so you can see how it moves and whatnot. Helped me a lot Smiley smile

Yes, you can absolutely take pictures. They are super crowded on the weekends, at least the ones in my area are and they assign multiple bride or groups to each staff member, so going during the week should be super helpful and hopefully you'll get some more attention.

Yeah you can take photos. My advice is do not go in with high expectations. I was very disappointed when I went to David's bridal. I made a list of 10 dresses I wanted to see and they only had 3 in a size anywhere near what I could try on. Also the floor dresses can be dirty and disheveled looking. I did not end up getting a dress the day I went and actually went home rather upset by the whole experience.

Yes - they allow you to take pics. Wear a strapless bra and nude undies.

Yes they do. But my best advice is breathe. I was so nervous being center of attention that though I found my dress and we were all excited I didn't get that moment with my mom at all. There's still the wedding, nothing can't be fixed. But honestly just try to relax and have fun! Oh also do you have the app? Select your favorite dresses and they will have them ready for you to try on. I was surprised they had printed out my favorites list. And make sure you try on your absolute favorites. There was one dress I wish I had still knowing it wouldn't have beat the feeling I had just seeing my dress but I wonder. lol Good luck!!

I cannot second PP enough about the video. Take short clips of you moving in the dress. It's so much more helpful to have a video with front and back and movement than just a shot from the front. You don't want to miss out on your dream dress because the picture was bad compared to pictures of other dresses! Video all the way!

I'm finding that each Davids Bridal location is different. The one I went to allowed me to take pics.

    Regarding advice for dress shopping:

    1. Wedding gowns run 2-3 sizes too small. If you're an 8 in street clothes, you'll most likely be a 12 in wedding gowns. Don't let the dress size get your down.

    2. David's Bridal is good for having lots of different silhouettes in lots of sizes so you'll get a chance to try all of them and determine which fits your body type best.

    3. Wear the right undergarments (strapless bra and shaper bottoms) in nude colors.

    4. David's Bridal can be overwhelming. There are a lot of dresses (all in plastic garment bags) and lots of brides.

    5. A good consultant will make a world of difference in your experience. Make sure they select gowns in your budget, color, etc. There are lots of not-so-good one in this chain so good luck! And don't be afraid to speak up if they're not listening to you or getting you what you need.

    6. Wear pumps (or flats if you're wearing flats in your wedding).

    7. If you have any doubt about the gown you chose, go home and think about it before you purchase. It's an expensive purchase, which isn't always returnable.

Good luck! Please share pics once you've found The One!

They do allow pictures. I'd say have an open mind when you go and wear undergarments that you don't mind the consultant see you in. Haha they did provide some basic shapewear (strapless bra/corset style), but otherwise the consultant is in there with you to help get the dresses on. Happy shopping!

You can take pictures! And since it's your first time, try on everything! Even if you don't think it's a style you'll end up in, try it at least once to see. Have fun!
