David's Bridal Online Dresses Is This Correct.

Amanda, on April 7, 2017 at 10:56 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 20

My appointment was today at my local David's Bridal. The lady told me that online dresses are already altered dresses that have been sized incorrect and they are flawed. Is that correct? They didn't care to let me try on many dresses and My Friend spoke up and asked about another David's Bridal and online and that's when we were informed about their dresses and that another David's Bridal probably won't show me dresses like she did in my price range. If I said I liked a dress on me she was ready to place my order I didn't say I want to order it it was a maybe but if I said maybe she acted like I found the dress and I don't want to try on anymore but I did. I felt a liittle almost rushed even though she said no rush. I tried on five dresses all of which were similar. Kind of upset me.

I'm sorry you didn't have a good experience there! I don't know about the online dresses, though it sounds a little off. But it would definitely be worth trying another store if you didn't find something you love. Having a good constant can make a world of a difference! Good luck with your search!

    Whoa punctuation is your friend.

But online dresses aren't already altered. And don't let someone push you into something you don't want. I'd make another?appointment, possibly at a different David's, but definitely with a different stylist.

Sounds like she was trying to get you to buy a dress you werent ready to buy. Take your business elsewhere.

She said that dresses online were cheaper sometimes than their in store dresses but they were already purchased dresses that were already altered. That they also have flaws and to be careful with them. She originally showed me with dresses out of my budget until we told her my budget. Those dresses I didn't try on simply because they weren't in my budget. The next closest David's Bridal is about sixty miles away so I didn't care to go that far which is why I was considering buying online but I was scared about the online dresses after she explained them to me.

They had a sheet with my favorites on them but they only showed me one on there. She couldn't find some and just didn't mention some. I feel like I could have tried on more but she kept me in the ones I was fine with to try to almost talk me into buying one. The ones I said no thanks to i was able to take off fast. Now I know to act like I don't like any of them if I'm not sure.

They work on commission so they want you to buy something from them that day.

I get that they want you to buy from them but not everyone is going to try on five dresses that similar and order one. I'd like to make sure that's the style and dress before ordering and loosing money because I wasn't sure but didn't get any other options.

There was barely anyone in there but she still made me feel rushed even in the beginning of my appointment. I just rather buy online now after my experience with them. But I worry when I only tried on five dresses since I still don't think I know what I want. I think I know the style I want but again that's the only style I tried on.

The stylist was correct in saying that some of the dresses online are cheaper then in stores. Some, not all. On Davids bridal online, they sell a lot of samples and as is dresses. They are cheaper because they were most likely the floor models in the stores. So some of them may have flaws, which is listed in the product description of the dresses. A lot of times, brides will come in and show us super cheap dresses online (normally $800 but online for $299) not knowing that it was an online only sample dress or an online as is dress. They then expect us to order them that same style for that same price. Which we can't, because a perfect condition gown would never be that cheap. The bride would have to go online and order the as is dress and risk it coming on damaged to get that price

I posted a few weeks ago about a similar experience (well I never even did a try on!!) however yesterday I had the best experience and it made it so much easier. I wasn't rushed and tried on ssssooooo many dresses. Find a new place for your appointment and deep breaths. You will be beautiful.

The website does sell a bunch of sample dresses for cheaper prices, but they are clearly marked SAMPLE in the title. My closest store is an hour away and they only had 2 dresses I marked as favorites (which I hated) I went to another one even farther away hoping they had a dress I loved, but they didn't have my size. I ended up ordering a new dress from the website and it was during a flash sale so I saved over $100. My bridesmaids also ordered their new dresses from the website during a flash sale. She was pressuring you to make a sale.

The dresses I favorited were mostly in store dresses. Yet they didn't have them or weren't shown to me expect for one of them. I'm not looking at sample dresses online. I'd rather order one that I was able to try on which I why I don't want to order online if I have a choice to find something in a store.

She may have misunderstood the question and thought you meant the inline samples. Also, protocol at DB is to do 5 dresses, it's a good round number and it's high enough to not overwhelm the bride.

I didn't say sample dresses. I didn't have sample dresses favorited. Five dresses is fine if you actually picked them out and they weren't similar. Now I have to make another appointment because my first appointment was rushed and not helpful.

Wow! Go to another DB!! I tried my dress on in the store, but purchased it on line. My dress was perfect! She just wants the sale, because your dress will be much cheaper, if purchased online.

I had a horrible experience from davids bridal! When they called me and told me my dress was ready I drove 3 hours to pick it up. Next day I took it to a seamstress close to home and went to put it on and it was dirty! And I mean dirty. They gave me a floor sample after spending $700 on the dress. I was furious. Had to take it back and it took another 5 weeks for a brand new one to come in. When I went to go pick up the new one my fmil bought my underskirt and corset bra. Went for another round of alterations and they gave her the wrong size! I'm never recommending them to anyone!

Well I assume you are an adult, you can say no and that you would like to try something different on.

I had a similar experience at my local DB.

What I did was I went back told the lady at the front I wanted to speak with a manager and told her my prior experience that I was rushed and the consultant didn't show me any dresses I liked and felt like I was being fat shamed since the consultant I had, only was showing me empire waist dresses. I also told her I was having a star wars wedding , she was able to set me up with the perfect consultant that was a total star wars nerd just like me . It was awesome we tried on like 10 dresses and found that drop wait trumpet was the perfect dress for me.

They use Yelp for their reviews company wide. Look up that DB and see if there is any positive reviews about 1 consultant , then ask for an appointment with that consultant.

I would stay away from DB honestly. Your store sounds a lot like my local DB and they are horrible. Go to a privately owned boutique. You're going to get much better attention and care.

Yeah, I second Melissa. Can you find a local store? They will also have dresses in your price range, and your experience will be so much better!! I had an appointment at David's and hated it, and ended up buying my dress from a local store. It was an amazing experience! Team local!
