Davids Bridal Layaway???

Kaylee, on May 22, 2018 at 1:14 PM Posted in Planning 0 13

Hey guys!

So I am really interested in putting this dress on layaway at DB in 2 weeks when I have the money for the 25% down payment. I am just wondering if anyone knows if they order it new for you and not use the store dresses or what. Also, can I just go into the davids bridal store when I have the money and show them the card they gave me with the item number, color and size and they can go off that? I am also very nervous that they will be out of stock in 2 weeks for this dress when I get the money...dnfjsdfnsjnf

I guess I am kind of confused.

They order it new after you make the last payment.

They always order new dresses to be made unless you are buying off of the rack.

I think they only do layaway if its over a certain amount of money (I think it has to be more than $800?) but then you only have 60 days to pay it in full. They also have the credit card which you can apply for and put the dress on that.

For example, my dress was $600 and I had to pay in full that day in order for them to place the order.

If you already had an appointment and tried it on and told them you'd be ordering, they should have saved the dress in your portfolio and when you go in to buy it they can easily pull it up and order it for you. My BM dresses are on my portfolio and they can pull it up for the BMs to buy very easily. Hope this helps.

I got my dress at David’s and layaway isn’t an option because they have a credit card now. You do get 6 month interest free on it though

This. 25% payment put down and then a payment each week, it can be as low as $5 or $10 but they need something each week. Must be paid for within 60 days.

The dress will be ordered brand new after the final payment is made. Given that your wedding is in June of 2019, you have plenty of time.

I bought off the rack. It was a store sample and on sale. I paid half down and paid half a month later. Walked out with it the day I paid in full. They said it was a layaway. So it could be done in August of last year at least at my store. Any local boutique wanted half paid before they would start the ordering process. Luckily I found one I liked off the rack at DB.. With the sale and alterations it was still under the original retail price.

Just so you know. There are different layaways. There is regular layaway for a dress you are buying off the rack at David's Bridal. Then special order reserve layaway which is when they order the dress. The terms are similar expect with the special order reserve your dress is not ordered until you pay it off. Hope the store told you that.

Yes they order it new for you. Mine has taken like 2 months to come in though.
Very important if you don't know this, they only give you 60 days to pay the dress off.

We did the layaway option. They ordered the dress after the last payment was received. I believe it was a 60 day payment period with a specific % down.
