David's Bridal - high pressure sales?

When I went they were pretty laid back, but it probably depends on the individual store.

They work on commission so their job is to get you to buy a dress. They probably won't appreciate it if you use them as a free fitting. If you're going to order online I would cancel the appointment. It's kind of rude to expect a sales consultant to take time out of their day to help someone who isn't even going to buy anything.

If you find a dress you love why would you leave it and order online?

Unfortunately it just depends on the stylist you're working with. I've been to my local DB twice in the last few weeks and saw a different stylist each time, The first girl was very sweet and didn't pressure me at all (probably because I was by myself and very nervous). The next time around, not so much. All the girl helping me had in mind was getting me to the register and even tried pressuring my grandmother into financing a dress (that I wasn't even completely sold on) for me when I was on the phone. I had to end it there. I told her I would sleep on it and left. Stay positive and if your stylist makes you uncomfortable or starts pushing you towards a decision that you aren't fully committed to, notify the manager.

I bought my dress from David's just a few weeks ago and I had a great experience! I never felt pressured to even commit to a dress let alone buy one. My consultant would bring me a few dresses and as I tried them on she would check in with me and see if I liked a dress or not. When I didn't like one she took it away and kept bringing back more. I never felt pressured by them and they helped me find my dream dress....a dress I never expected to love! Keep an open mind and be prepared to buy when you're there....otherwise you may want to cancel or reschedule.

You make that decision. No one can pressure you into anything when you are spending your money. FYI, should you act a little hesitant, they will take a little more off the price. Lol.

I got my dress from there and the person who was helping me was amazing. He knew it was my first time shopping and he basically said that he was just going to put me in different types of dresses so I could see what I liked and said that I could come back later and narrow it down even more. He basically didnt expect me to find a dress that day but was very helpful. I did end up finding my dress there that day though. But my experience there was fantastic.
