David’s Bridal.... dress regret.

Kelli, on February 25, 2018 at 4:42 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12
Help! Has anyone had experience exchanging a dress at David’s Bridal? I bought my dress at the beginning of January. It came in just a couple weeks later. I tried it on (my mom has it in my hometown as that’s where we got it) this weekend and I realized I’m having dress regret. Every time I look in the mirror I think what could get changed, or that I’ll feel better when I lose some weight. I’m starting to think it’s not the dress for me...
I have no problem just exchanging it if I can, I’m sure I can find another there. Has anyone had an experience with David’s Bridal exchanging a dress? I hope I would be able to at least! If I can’t, I guess I’ll be stuck with this dress as we can’t afford another dress.

They told me "no returns or exchanges", but maybe your location will be more flexible? Do you have a photo? Dress regret is completely normal... it's like cold feet but for your wardrobe, lol. Are you /sure/ it's really not the one?!

FYI, I had dress regret, too, but I've shed a few pounds and realized I bought it for a reason. When I try it on now, it fits, and I'm very excited. But for the first 1-2 months after I bought it, I couldn't stop thinking I'd made a terrible mistake. Very glad I didn't exchange it now!

I thought I would have dress regret so I went early. Tried on in August and waited until February to order just to be sure. I would at least check if it can be exchanged!

Im not sure if you will be able to return or exchange the dress. Most bridal stores post that dresses are not returnable.

If your dress came in and you took it home they won’t exchange or refund it. Only if it’s still in their possession.

Can it be altered or changed to a style you might like more. Sometimes using accessories or adding a belt changes the whole look of the dress

    Hello,
I too had second thoughts about the dress I ordered from David's Bridal. I kept thinking that it was missing something. Finally I decided I had to go try others on. I was very glad I did! I found my perfect dress, it was more than I could have ever dreamed of! They cancelled my order and put that money towards the new dress.

Also, my Matron of Honour decided she didn't like the style of dress she ordered after it came in. They happily exchanged it for her. (I let my girls pick their own style.)

I do know that some of their dresses are not able to be returned or exchange. Usually they are ones from their website that go on final sale. They also prohibit exchanges or returns if the dress had been altered at all.

I hope that helps! Good luck and congratulations 😊

That's actually not true. As long as the tags are still on and out hasn't been altered.

I had dress regret but it happened pretty much immediately after buying my first dress. I went back the next day and tried on 3 more dresses and they ended up cancelling my order and I was able to pay the difference for a new dress. This was before the placed the first order and it came in.

side note: my receipt also said No exchanges or returns. I’d call the DB you got the dress from and ask them. I feel like every store will be a little different in how lenient they are.

Thanks everyone! I’ll call. No alterations have been done, it’s in the bag still with tags on. I’m seriously teetering between it’s just normal dress regret and I need to try more on. I’ll decide once I call them and get an answer one way or the other!

I bought my dress January of 2017. After a year and looking at other pictures I called David's back to do a comeback appointment. Because my dress was never worn and still in the bag, they were going to let me exchange it for something equal or more expensive or make up the difference with assorries. After trying on other dresses and re trying my old dress on i realized that I loved my dress and decided to keep it. Just call your store.

I called my store and they are willing to do exchange for equal or greater value! I’m going in this week to try some on and see if it’s just me second guessing myself, or if I really need something else! Smiley smile
