David's bridal closing??

So last weekend, I went into David's bridal and picked out my bridesmaid dresses with a few of my bridesmaids. However, I was giving my girls some time to order them. I read multiple articles and saw on the news today that David's is filing for bankruptcy. I know they are promising to stay open and get people their dresses. But that kind of financial instability is making me pretty nervous. Does anyone have more information, and do you think I should find somewhere else? Also, if so, does anyone know of any relatively more inexpensive options?

I’m having my girls order their dresses from azazie bc I like the quality better. However, I worked at JCPenney when they were bankrupt and they are still open and selling plenty of merchandise. They just had to do some restructuring.

They are just restructuring their debt. A lot of major corporations do this.

As Kelly said, they are filing chapter 13 - which means they discharge debt and restructure the organization, possibly close SOME stores.

It it is not a liquidation (chapter 7)

They’re not closing down, they’re restructuring their debt. Plus even if they were shutting down, a huge corporation wouldn’t cllse it overnight like that. It would take a long time for them to clear their inventory and have closure sales and such. My girls are getting their dresses there too and I’m not worried

I don't know, Alfred Angelo Bridal did that. Didn't even tell the consultants. My cousin worked there for 10 years as manager and she didn't know.

Oh yep sorry - chapter 13 is Individuals, chapter 11 is corporations, but it’s the same thing.

I believe David's Bridal is restructuring but I've been looking online for bridesmaids dresses because it's more convenient and affordable. I'm thinking about Azazie because of a lot of the reviews I've seen on here. Hope that helps!
