David's Bridal- can my maids get away with purchasing their dress 4 months out?

Laura, on February 7, 2020 at 1:32 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10
I had originally planned on getting everyone together roughly 5.5 months out, but it's looking like that may no longer work for everyone. I am considering seeing if people are free 4-4.5 months out instead but want to make sure people would have enough time if they need alterations (they are likely buying short dresses).

The dresses for my bridal party came in within a month, one came in just two weeks. The associates should be able to tell you which styles are expect to take a longer time than normal. I think 4 months is plenty of time.

We bought dresses for my friends wedding 5 months out and it was barely enough time. It left us with 2 weeks to get alterations done and they send the wrong dress for one girl so she couldn't even get hers altered. I would consider ordering online

My MOH ordered her dress from DB 3 months out and it wasn't a problem.

I’d call the store. It also depends what color you want... some more common colors will arrive faster. Also on the store. 2 of my bridesmaids ordered their dresses at the same store and theirs both arrived within 2 weeks. My MOH lives in a different state and her dress took several months to come in (I don’t remember exactly how many, but I want to say around 3?)

I would suggest calling the store with the color(s), sizes and dress style(s) handy and ask. Some sizes may have to be order while some colors may be more popular and more of them are made, certain dress styles may take longer etc. Also, alterations take some time too.

Yes but typically it depends what color you going for. We purchase ours 4 months out and we well my bridesmaids get theirs 2 weeks before the wedding due to my color....We weren't too happy at all. We def cutted it close.

Would 5 months out have worked you think? I think we might be able to swing that.

Welp i think the sooner is the better because color ans style is a big thing with DB. But overall 5 months should be reasonable.

Sooner is definitely better! My bridal party just ordered their dresses last month for my June wedding. While we were there though the consultant had to check each dress that each of my BMs wanted to ensure they would be in on time. Some dresses will show up very quickly (within a month) but if your party is looking at the newer styles or colors those take MUCH longer to come in... closer to the 5 month mark. So I would definitely call in advance and get in ASAP.

It really depends on what dress you want them to wear or what they pick. One of my bridesmaids dress came in 6 weeks and then one of them took 3.5 months. So it all depends!
