David's Bridal-Cameo Color

Alyssa, on July 25, 2016 at 3:05 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13

My maid of honor is wearing a beautiful lace dress from David's Bridal in cameo. It's a gorgeous blush color that has a cool tone to it and borders on having some lavender or even brown in it. Unfortunately we can't find similar tie colors anywhere. Men's Wearhouse does not carry a match. Does anyone have any experience finding a similar shade?

I got nervous when I saw this thinking it was a typo of camo lol

That's a beautiful color... did she get a swatch of it that you can take when you go shopping?

You could just not match ties, that's what we're doing. FH and GM are all wearing black tuxes with black bow ties & ivory shirts.

ETA FH's bout will match my bouquet and GM bouts will match BM bouquets

What are the accent colors? I would match an accent color or flower color.

Do you require the guys to match perfectly? If not, I'm sure there are coordinating colors you can use from MW. Any neutral would go nicely.

If that's a relatively new color, then MW may not have a match for it yet. It's a beautiful color though!! I agree with PP - are you going to have an accent color? You may be better off having them wear ties/vests in an accent than trying to match that shade. Maybe have them in silver or bronze? or maybe have them do the classic black? (I don't know your full color palette, so taking stabs here)

I have no useful information, I'm sorry. I'm just breathing a sign of relief that you didn't mean CAMO.

I'm definitely thinking at this point to not match ties. That was my original thought but my groom thought maybe he wanted to match. Maybe a champagne color? Our colors are blush, navy and gold. Mostly a soft gold. We're only having a maid of honor and best man, so I just need ties for two guys. It won't be a lot of people in the color.

I for sure didn't mean camo!! Thank goodness!

It must be a new color, they JUST got swatches at least online and don't have any matches at Davids Bridal. I've been looking at Bows n Ties.

If the guys are wearing black, then I'd vote for blush, as long as it's not a huge difference in color. If they're wearing navy, then I'd vote for the soft gold; I think it would look lovely in a wedding suit/tux!

My girls wore cameo and then metallic pewter shoes, so Men's Wearhouse matched the vests to the pewter.

Wait - I was wrong. I just looked at the pics. They wore black vests with silverish ascots.

Oh jeez I totally read that as camo too, images of Duck Dynasty kept flying in my head.

Gorgeous color but can see why matching it can be such a challenge.

I would get a swatch and try to find a patterned tie that incorporated that color instead of a solid...just start searching at department stores. For example, My BM's wore a dark plum color and my dad wanted a tie to wear with his suit that would go with the wedding so I found him a nice tie that had a stripe pattern using black, charcoal, cream and plum. With the other colors surrounding it, if it wasn't an exact plum match you couldn't even tell. I always prefer some sort of patterned tie over a basic solid anyway!
