Davids Bridal Bridesmaids Dresses vs Azazie

AM, on June 11, 2018 at 12:28 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 12

Hi ladies!

I have a pretty diverse bridal party (height, weight, measurements, skin tone, the works!)

I am trying to find affordable dresses for my girls to order but can't decide if we want to go with David's Bridal or Azazie. I thought David's Bridal would be easier to use because everyone can gather and try the dresses on, but i'm reading a LOT of reviews about the zippers being a huge issue. Has anyone had this experience? I appreciate recommendations for other dress companies IF the dresses are for sure under $150 per person.

I was married previously and went to David's bridal found a beautiful dress. The zipper was broke and they couldn't fix it in time. It honestly depends on your time frame. But I can tell you they do have a lot of diffrent styles and color contrasts. I would try and see you never know.

We were going back and forth between DB and Azazie and ultimately we went with Azazie because the quality was sooooo much better. My sister (MOH) ordered a few samples to try on and the fit and quality was great. And my other BM is a student and she got a 10% off discount, so that was nice!

We used David's Bridal, my maids range in height from 5'3 to 5'8 and sizes from 2 to 12. We picked convertible dresses from a brand called 'Versa'. We did have 1 sticky zipper out of the 4 dresses, but it wasn't terribly bad, we just had to clasp it at the top before zipping
You can reach out to me if you have any other questions, hope this helped!

We debated between azazie and DBs and went with Azazie because it was all within the price range for my girls, and because once I had gathered the swatches they were the only ones who had the color I was picturing in my head for the shade of coral I wanted.

Overall its been a great experience, the dresses came quicker than their expected production time and the quality was all good. The girls need minimal alterations but that is because mostly everyone is short!

I also debated between DB and azazie, I got swatches from azazie and they were great but we wound up picking out dresses from DB. I had 5 BM's and nobody had any issues with their dress's quality!

I honestly would go with either a bridal boutique or Azazie. My girls tried on dresses at DB and they are such horrible quality for the price. They aren't made well, the zippers are horrible and the fabric gathers. If my girls are going to spend that much, I at least want them to be nice dresses that they'll want to wear again.

I personally think David's Bridal dresses are cheaply made for how much they cost. But I've never had a problem with one (though I've never worn them more than one time). They do have a range of styles, and are super convenient if you have bridal party spread out or you need to coordinate men's accessories. I haven't seen my bridesmaid dresses in person yet, but women in our party got them from Azazie, did the custom sizing, and they have raved about them.

I’m a bridesmaid in my friends wedding this coming weekend. She went back and forth between the two and finally decided on Azazie. I’m definitely anti Azazie as I think the dress looks extremely cheap and doesn’t fit all too well. DB is much better in my opinion, but it seems to be the uncommon one lol

I'm going with Azazie, they have more options and you don't have to deal with salespeople in the store. They also do custom dresses for custom measurements!

I'm also debating this same question currently! I'd love to know what you decided if you've made a decision yet!

Wanted to follow up and am finally getting around to it! I had one of my bridesmaids order a sample size from Azazie to try on before we had our appointment at David's Bridal so we could do a comparison. She said the material was comfortable and was similar to the mesh material that David's Bridal has for their dresses, but was a little lacking in quality compared to David's Bridal (BUT was totally fine with that).

I went with the group to David's Bridal after having taken into account their preferences and narrowed down to 2 different dresses. One of them was a mesh convertible dress where the straps can be made into different designs from the panels on the dress (my pick) and the other was a similar style but had wider straps for the arm-conscious gals. Surprisingly, every single one of my bridesmaids loved the dress i had picked and it took all of 20 minutes (maybe less) to have them all try on their dresses, figure out their sizes, and get on line to order them.

Unfortunately the dresses we picked were taken off sale 3 days before we went in for the appointment and they didn't have a comparable color for me to get them any cheaper for the girls, but i think the dresses came to $150 and they all were comfortable with them because with the exception of one or two, no one will need alterations. Almost everyone has gotten their dress already!

I would have been fine going with Azazie to save the girls some money, but i think it would have been a little more hectic of a process because they would have wanted to order a sample size to make sure their measurements were correct, and then they would have had to order at the same time to make sure the dye lot was the same. If your bridal party is okay with a little bit of chaos, then Azazie is a totally great option to go with.

I went to both David’s Bridal and ordered 3 sample dresses from Azazie and will be going with Azazie. I preferred the quality of their dresses and love that I can order in a custom size as my hip/waist/bust measurements spread across 3 different sizes.
