David's Bridal appointment reminder

Tessa, on October 10, 2019 at 11:33 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5

Hello brides! I went to David's bridal over the summer and tried on a few dresses but did not buy. A few weeks after I received an email saying "things to know before your upcoming appointment", I reached out and let them know I didn't have an appointment and I must have made a mistake with the scheduling. I apologized and didn't think about it again. Last night I received an email from David's saying please complete questionare to prepare for your appointment. Is this some scam? I haven't been on the website in months so I know it wasn't my mistake this time. Has anyone else experienced this? I don't want some poor consultant to think I am coming and miss a potential sale, but I truly am not making these appointments. Do I need to keep reaching out to the salon and let them know I am not coming? What would you do?

I got an email like this the other day. I bought my dress a month and a half ago (made an appointment then) and picked it up a few weeks ago (no appointment). I was wondering the same thing. I was going to call the shop, but nothing on the email said anything about a time or date for the "appointment", so I just ignored it.

Maybe they’re not updating in their system since the appointment is online. Also, because they’re not updating in their system it might just be a sell tactic since they don’t have knowledge that you’ve already spent their money with them. It’s like Amazon reminding you “hey, you left something in your cart.” The goal is to buy. Lol.

I was receiving sales e-mails from David's six months after I got married (long after my dress had been cleaned and preserved). It's a sales tactic - I repeatedly asked to be taken off of their list, and finally e-mailed them. The person I reached said to change my contact information so that the my e-mail address was wrong (misspell gmail/yahoo/or whatever you use) - haven't received any e-mails since lol.
