David’s Bridal alterations

You have to check the reviews base on the location you intended to alter your dress. Every seamstress is different. A friend of mine had so much trouble with DB alteration on her location. They ruined the sewing and the quality of the end result was bad. She got $500 voucher from DB so she bought a new dress and sold the first dress. Some other brides in WW had good experience with their DB alterations so, it all depends. However, your dress seems to be an easy fix, I wouldn’t worry.

Thank you for your response! You are correct I was finding that the reviews do vary tremendously based on the location of David’s Bridal. I’m sorry your friend had a bad experience... thankfully she received a $500 voucher. I didn’t think in my alterations would be to complicated.

Unfortunately, you will probably get mixed reviews on here too. There have been brides here who have had an easy time with DB’s alterations, and others have shared nightmare experiences (although pretty much everyone says the alterations at DB are more expensive than independent seamstresses). There are just sooooo many locations, each with their own seamstresses, so judging one based on another won’t be an accurate assessment. You should try to find reviews on the seamstresses at the location you are thinking of going. Maybe look at reviews at surrounding locations also- if there are really great reviews for another DB location near you, you could always take your dress there instead.

I know DB backs what they do in case something happens to the dress during alterations they will give you a voucher for another dress. I’m fearful of taking it to a independent seamstress and something happening to the dress then being “stuck”. I’m going to get a alteration quote from
DB first then go from there!

I had a GREAT experience at David's and I made A LOT of changes to my dress. They also weren't overpriced like people say they are. I would def use them again.

Thank you so much for your reply! I really think it all depends on which DB location you go to, some may be better than others. The same goes for independent boutiques, some better than others. It's just a little frustrating when you read some people bash DB.... Again it depends on the location, which makes it hard to speak for the franchise itself, not all DB locations are bad. I've had a great experience at my Davids Bridal thus far. I also think people's expectations vary when it comes to the cost of alterations. Thank you for your reassurance!
