Davids bridal alteration time?

Kelly, on August 4, 2018 at 4:08 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13
So when I bought my dress the lady told me to call in August to make my first dress alteration appt for that month for my nov 3rd wedding. I call today and they told me the first available spot they have is Sept. 26? I dont know much about alterations so I was wondering about how long it usually takes? I know no one can say for sure but I just feel like that's cutting it kind of close! Or am I just getting anxiety for nothing lol

I would just call back and ask them if that is plenty of time to get it done. And if not go to local seamstresses

My dress is in David's bridal alterations right now. All that mine is getting done is a bottom hem and a stronger hook and it's taking a month. I took mine in early because I figured they would be busy during wedding season. My wedding isnt until dec 1st

Call them, give your wedding date, tell them what is needed to be done on your dress and get a manager involved if you need to. It's their schedule your trying to fit into.

It took David's bridal about a month to get everything done for my dress. When I went in for my first fitting they gave me a pick up date right away.

For me my alterations were quick. I got my dress back in a few weeks. I did everything early because they warned me that slots would fill up quickly.

I had multiple alterations because I had my dress turned into a high low and now they are putting a corset on the back and a sash on the front. I went last Saturday and my pick up date is August 24th. My wedding is September 22nd. I would call again and talk to someone else. Tell them when your wedding is and tell them what you need done. They might try and get you in sooner. I booked all of mine in advance when I bought the dress because I knew it would be wedding season and they would be busy.

My wedding is November 4th. I bought my dress at David’s in June and set an appointment for 9/19.

My wedding is November 4th and I had mine done last month. I pick it up in a few days. It depends on what alterations you are getting but I was told they typically hold on to dresses for 4 weeks or so. My fiancee has to get her dress done and she is going in September. It's weird that they didn't just have you make your appointment when you picked up your dress. But I think you'll be fine. It's definitely cutting it closer than some brides would like, but I've always found that honest conversations with them = great results! They've always accommodated me! I really think you'll be fine though!

I went for my alteration fitting July 6 and my dress isn’t ready to pick up until August 17. So it took a good 6 weeks to be ready for pickup. I got mine at David’s as well.
