Daughter's Bridal Shower(Pics included)

KTSmom, on October 31, 2014 at 6:45 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 8

Last Sunday was my daughter's bridal shower! This was a secret and she was really surprised. My son's fiance had asked her to go to a bridal show, so that's where she thought she was going.

Where we're from, the BM's usually plan and pay for the shower, sometimes with help from the MOB and MOG, and that's what we did. The girls truly outdid themselves and the day was absolutely beautiful.

We had a brunch for 60 people, with champagne punch and various wines and juices. My friend and I did the centerpieces. I found some 8inch cylinder vases on Craigslist and put some bling at the top, some hydrangeas, and called it a day. Hydrangeas are her favorite flower.

The favors were teabags made by the BM's. They ordered some muslin bags, loose tea, pretty ribbon, and some labels from Etsy that read "Katie and Casey, love is brewing". It fit in well with the brunch idea.

We had two games, "Where's the Groom" and What's in your Purse" and had gift baskets from Bath and Bodyworks as prizes.

There was also the pantyline poem, which had everyone laughing.

All in all, it was an absoluteley beautiful day, and my daughter keeps saying how it went by so fast and she wishes she go back and do it all over again!

Nancy T, the pantyline poem was found on Pinterest. It's a poem about the bride being a panty queen. There are different panties for each occasion.....wedding white pair is white, valentine's is red, etc. The MOH read the first few stanzas of the poem , then each BM read a stanza, holding up a pair of panties that corresponded to it. They then put them on the panty line with clothespins. You can see them in the pic with all the BMS. The last stanza is about how after 25 years, you're too old to wear a thong, thus the huge pair of granny panties. LOL

Google the pantyline poem when you get a chance. It really is funny and the bride gets 7 pairs of underwear too! lol
