Has anyone choose their wedding date, and it happens to fall on a holiday weekend?

We're getting married the weekend before Easter. Kind of an oops on our part, but hopefully our families manage to take off work to come join us

Oh nooooo! I'm really sorry that happened. I get what you're saying though - when I realized Easter weekend was the weekend after our wedding I almost went to see if we could move it because people usually have vacation, but we decided against it because people would want more of an excuse for time off lol. Is it because of prior commitments? Any chance they could change they're hang ups? I'm so sorry this has turned into a mess but I see what you were trying to do.

I have chosen a date but also changed it due to the holiday months. It’s hard and I had to tell myself you can’t satisfy everyone, the more I try to accommodate them the more I’m not happy! Do what makes you happy

Yes, I decided to do a holiday weekend in October 2020. Sunday before a Monday holiday allowed us to save some money on our venue fee and offer our guest more time to explore the city during the weekend.

I believe a holiday weekend was more expensive at my venue! It has its upsides (people can party & recover on Monday) or its downsides (people go away for the weekend). If the date has special meaning, go with it!

I am getting married on Memorial day weekend, Saturdaaay! I chose this on purpose so that most of our families would be able to really let loose for the three day weekend.

I know it's a lot right? So the 5th is Saturday if you keep that date some people will not able to be in the wedding party? But if u change it they can?? That's tough but if you want those certain ppl in the party I'd say move it to accommodate them.

Yea because that's big of you. So now everything else is all you're vision. I wanted mismatched dresses for the bm's but my mom was absolutely terrible about it so the bm's got matching dresses for her but now literally everything else I've chosen without her purposely. We gotta give a lil to get what we want.

I am getting married May 23, the Saturday before Memorial Day. I know everyone says to stear clear of those weekends, but the only issue we've had is that we had to book hotels super early and they are slightly more expensive. No issues of people not being able to make it because of prior plans. Most people are excited to spend the long weekend with us!

My fiance and I are getting married the week before Easter weekend, not the actual weekend of it. I'm not sure if anyone on our guest list is going to be doing any Early Easter festivities but if they are, that's fine. We'll see them another time if they are unable or unwilling to attend. We can't satisfy everyone and our date is set in stone.

    Hi,

Yes I chose labor day weekend on purpose. A lot of my family and friends are off then and some come in town then anyway. This way no one has to take extra days off and they still get to enjoy the city.

We're getting married September 5th. We figured it would be convenient for most, and those who can't make it due to other plans we won't have to feed LOL. But it's a bummer that part of your wedding party is unable to attend now.

I wanted to get married on July 4 2020. But than i realized its not fair to people who cant take hoildays off or who travel for the hoilday. PLUS vendors charge double on hoildays. and I decided one year of planning wasnt enought time so we went with July 10, 2021. Following weekend that way everyone can attend and not have an issue with getting it off. Smiley smile
