Date Twins! What's Left!?

Ceelie , on April 17, 2019 at 10:05 AM Posted in Planning 0 31

I just ordered my bridesmaid dresses last night, which is a big to-do I can now cross off my list. But for some reason I feel like there is still so much to do! My wedding is August 31st, and all our vendors are booked. The majority of payments are due two weeks before the wedding, so I'm trying to figure out what I should do next? Engagement photoshoot is scheduled for May 1st! When should I look for a hairstylist? I just need to figure out what I want my sign in table to look like, get invitations done, accessories, collect addresses, and a few other details. Seems like there's just a LOT of little things, the big things are all taken care of. Where are you guys in the process? Anyone close to the same date?

My wedding date is a month after yours on September 28th. All of our vendors are booked as well. Our next big thing to check of our list is to order tuxes, we are going next month to pick them out. Our engagement pictures are May 7th. The few things we have are all last minute things that we have to wait for until closer. Like sending invitations, getting our marriage license, making all final payments, and all the little wedding day details.

Mine is also August 31st and I haven't even gone dress shopping yet. Granted I just got engaged in February so time is limited. I have to find an officiant as well. We have the ceremony and reception venue, tons of decor, food, cake, DJ, rings. Working on photos, favors, attire, accessories, invitations etc. Its a lot to do in a short amount of time but, I think I can get it done.

Ours is August 9th. My mom and I are busting out bouquets today and tomorrow. We just had our tasting, my hair trial, finalized the suits and FH tux, got my wedding band. Still need to finalize ceremony, rehearsal time, make hand fasting cords, make and order invites, make corsages and boutineers, pay all final payments, send times/songs to DJ, create a timeline for hair/makeup, look into breakfast and lunch for the wedding party the day of, do centerpieces, order favors, and get a card box/other small decor. Seems like a lot but most of it I can knock out in a few weekends. I finish school (teacher) June 14th so I'll have some time before the wedding to finish everything up!! Its getting close!

I think its a good idea to start looking into hair and makeup, get some quotes, look at photos... My date is September 14th, and I got my hair and makeup people last week, and scheduled a trial for July. We have our engagement pictures May 29th!

Have you done registries yet? hotel blocks? A day of timeline? Maybe some things you can start on if you haven't already! We also have our invitations mocked up, just waiting for a good sale to order them!

So we'll be married on August 30th, all our vendors are booked, getting ready to send out invitations. Still working on the little things, wedding favors, centerpieces and what our sign in table should look like. The smallest things seem like a lot but if you make a list, I find that helps as you go along...

FH and I are August 16th! We have most of the big things all set - now we're focused on getting tuxes, working with the jeweler who is making our rings, and all the little DIYs (centerpieces, photo wall, signs, etc). Starting to get worried about day-of timeline, as I've forgotten everything my vendors said when I booked last summer, lol...

    August 31st here too!

Most of the big stuff out of the way! All of our vendors are booked. About to schedule my hair trial soon since I changed my stylist. Already had my makeup trial and loved it! Bridesmaids dresses are ordered but still have to get everyone to pay for their suits. Started ordering little stuff such as cake cutting knife and card box. I have my first fitting in about 3 weeks. Just need to put together invites and send them next month. Oh and putting together timelines and songs. For the most part it is all of the payments that need to be made from now until the wedding... that's what is overwhelming me if anything! I wish I could fast forward to the part where we just get married and have a good time!

I’ve got the same date & all my vendors are booked, I finished putting together my invitations last night to mail them out tomorrow (destination wedding - gotta get those puppies out 3 months in advance!). I have my hair & makeup girl, finally. The big thing I’ve got left is my tasting (been asking since January and they only just scheduled me for one April 30) & this weekend I’m finishing dying the gauze I’m using as table runners & bottling the 6 gallons of homemade limoncello I made for the wedding favors. I’m making a date with some of my bridesmaids to do an in-home wine tasting to pick out the wines we’ll use for the reception. I figured it’s one thing I can try to make fun and less stressful. The next big to-do is figuring out where and when our rehearsal dinner will be, since our rehearsal time slot at our venue is booked.

All my deposits are paid, nothing else gets paid until 1 month to 2 weeks before wedding day. I still have to schedule our engagement photos and my dress alterations. The tailor I’m using said not to start alterations until 6 weeks before the wedding since I’m loosing weight.

It’s really a lot of little things from here on out... all the really big stuff is finished. I even already wrote out the ceremony and our vows. We’re having a non-religious ceremony performed by our mutual best friend so we (I) had to write the whole thing.

It is a relief, having all the major things accomplished. But I still see so many little things that need to be done (even if my WeddingWire account is telling me I have 2/3 of everything marked accomplished). At least now I feel like I have some breathing room.

Hi! I'm also August 31st. You sound like you are on track.
My venue is booked and we have that 60% paid that includes our catering so that is also done.
My dress is in and we are starting fittings in june
    Photographer and DJ is paid
Met with florist yesterday and did all of our centerpieces and other flower stuff. She is half paid.
Tuxes are picked out and they are getting measured in July for them
    Officiant is booked and paid.
The only stuff we really have left is ordering our invitations and we are doing that next week and hair and make up trial which is in two weeks. We want to try and be done with everything by june so we can enjoy the summer.
I would definitely book your hair and makeup soon I hear they book up pretty fast

Mine is Sept 1! Working on hair & make up trials. Just have mostly decorations and little things left to plan and flowers! Invites are out. Rehearsal is planned. Need to get myself accessories, gifts for the BMs, book flights for honeymoon. Baby steps. We've been working on about 1 task every 2 weeks since Sept 2018.

I am getting married August 31st also, and all the vendors have been secured. I picked up my dress last week. The bridemaids have been told they can wear any dress they want as along as it is sage green - no one has their dress. I am meeting with the officiant on the 29th to discuss the program flow. The decorator is meeting me back at he site on May 11th to help me see how she plans to work my vision. I have no idea what my hair will look like. I am taking my dress and hair jewelry to my stylist in June for him to "imagine" on me. All but one of the groomsmen have RSVP.......did I mention RSVP...........I have 125 seats and 143 have RSVP'd. I have to send regrets to 15 since I believe that everyone who RSVP's will not come......do you agree/is that your rule of thumb? I have about $2,600 more to pay vendors and I am driving my FH crazy!!! Well too bad, he know what he was getting!! :-) Did I ever answer the original question? LOL

Congratulations! I too am getting married Aug 31st!! I am with you on having all the big vendors booked and we are actually taking our engagement photos this weekend. As of now, we are finishing up details on creating invitations and starting on the “little things” that ultimately end up needing a lot of attention for detail. I too have scheduled a makeup/hair trial for early June and will have bridal portraits once my dress arrives and alterations are complete. We will probably also start brainstorming on welcome bags for hotel guests and bathroom baskets with frequently needed items for the reception guests. Good luck with everything!!
