Date twins - July 24th, still holding out?

Sarah, on May 1, 2020 at 8:15 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 4
Curious to see if anyone is still holding on to this date. We have 120-140 guests, so not too big, and are talking about back up plans once we hear from our governor today.

We are July 25th and we are still sticking to our original date. We live in FL and starting phase 1 of opening on Monday. I emailed our wedding coordinator yesterday to confirm since I still have to mail out the invites. He gave us the thumbs up so we are going to continue to plan accordingly. Our guest count is around 70-80. I also typed a small note to put in the invites about the well being of our guest and COVID-19 ect. Fingers crossed for you that everything will work out!

    I’m also July 17 - Virginia - 150 guests. We’re waiting until May 17 (60 days out) to decide.

I got all my vendors but one to agree to a July 2021 date just in case. One vendor won’t change unless we re sign a new contract (therefore forfeiting $1100 deposit) and pay $550 extra. I’m blown away by this bc everyone else was super understanding and frankly I’m sooo put off by it. She said she’d transfer our deposit if we rescheduled within 6 mos OR got married on a Monday-Thursday more than 6 mos out. What the heck.

    Hi Sarah,

I'm so sorry you are going through this! While this is definitely an uncertain time, it seems like plenty of July couples are waiting to make postponement decisions. Of course, everyone's situation is different, so it never hurts to be proactive about plan B!

I would give yourself a deadline to make a decision. If things aren't better by 5/31, I would consider postponing. Chat with your vendors now to see if they have any availability later this year or even next.

    Sending you lots of love!

    Good luck!

    Smiley heart
