Date change equals bigger budget

Cynthia, on January 24, 2020 at 6:31 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
So due to the fact that I'm pregnant and expected to deliver 8 weeks before our original wedding date (10/17/20) . Our new date (05/01/21). So that gives me an extra 9 months after birth. To recover from birth and be healthy and not bleeding or nursing a newborn. Anyways. Now that we have an extra 7 months our budget got bigger because we have more time to save money. This makes me want to change everything. Our venue is the biggest one. I originally chose an outdoor tent venue because of budget but originally wanted something indoors. But that's means the caterer we hired we can't use because most banquets want you to use their catering and all of that. So now I'm lost!! Should I change everything and lose the deposit money. Or should I keep it the same and use the extra money towards something else for the wedding? I'm torn, my FH wants to keep it the same but now I think I want my indoor wedding. Our original budget was 18K and the extra 7 months will bring it up to 28K.

Honestly, babies are SOOOOO expensive. I’d recommend keeping the extra money and put it towards baby related expenses if you already have a plan for the wedding. They really sneak up on you.

I agree! Babies are expensive. You should keep the extra money just to be safe!

Oh yes they are expensive! This will be our 3rd baby and Ive kept everything from prior just in case. We are pretty set on everything thing we need(mainly). Aside from diapers and a new carseat.

I would keep the same venue but find a place indoors for ceremony. If you lose the money you have to save that too.

If it was me, I'd say to keep the venue and catering just so you don't have to look for a new one! But if you want to change it I think that's totally okay too!

I’d keep the venue so you didn’t lose the deposit and put the money towards other things that you couldn’t have in the original budget. This could mean a bigger flower budget, draping, more bar options, a videographer, etc.

Or take the extra money and put it towards a fancy honeymoon! You might want a nice relaxing vacation with just the two of you to catch up on sleep post-baby Smiley smile

I would rather keep everything the same and use the money towards something else Smiley laugh Regardless of it being big or small, your wedding will be special with 3 cutie pies Smiley laugh
