Date and time on invitation

Am I writing/punctuating this correctly?

    You should have a comma after Saturday, but it otherwise looks correct!

    Unless you are having a super casual wedding, everything should be written out with no abbreviations.


    Saturday the eighteenth of MayTwenty twenty fourFour o’clock in the afternoon

    I don't think that means a casual wedding if not written out. oh you meant it as a joke? lol

    It depends on the invite design, you don't have to event put in the 18th of, you can just write the day of the week, date, month and time.

    Traditionally it would be all written out:

    Saturday, the eighteenth of May

    Two thousand twenty four

    at four o’ clock in the afternoon

    You certainly don’t have to be hosting a formal wedding to use what some still consider standard format and wording, but most people hosting a formal wedding do incorporate those elements.


    The reason for all the standarization and the understated language of traditional invitations was actually the opposite of stuffy. It was considered attention seeking to use wording that implied one wedding is more special or filled with joy or love than any other. Those sentiments were just assumed. Things are more relaxed now but anyone can use traditional format regardless of the formality of the event. I prefer it, personally.
