I think I'd die laughing doing a slow dance with my brother. If you feel you need to do a song I might recommend looking for something upbeat and fast versus slow and mushy.

Here are the lyrics incase anyone would like to know Smiley smile

When you look back on times we had

    I hope you smile

And know that through the good and through the bad

I was on your side when nobody could hold us down

    We claimed the brightest star

And we, we came so far

    And no they won’t forget

    [Chorus]

Whenever you remember times gone by

Remember how we held our heads so high

When all this world was there for us

And we believed that we could touch the sky

Whenever you remember, I’ll be there

Remember how we reached that dream together

    Whenever you remember

When you think back on all we’ve done

    I hope you’re proud

When you look back and see how far we’ve come

It was our time to shine

And nobody could hold us down

They thought they’d see us fall

But we, we stood so tall

    And no we won’t forget

Whenever you remember times gone by

Remember how we held our heads so high

When all this world was there for us

And we believed that we could touch the sky

    Cont....

In these situations, sometimes you want to think outside the box. Think fun rather than emotional. Is there a special family song? Something that you share a bond with from childhood, fun and upbeat, might be easier and more comfortable for you to dance to. Depending on dancing skills, and personalities (i.e not shy), maybe put something together that you can do a little something special with.

Another option might be asking bridal party to encircle you two, start with one of the nice suggestions already made, then have the DJ segue into something fun .. "We Are Family", an upbeat country if that is more your style, and invite everybody to join in. Works great if your brother does not want to be center of attention for too many minutes.

Good Luck, and have fun with it.

I am not dancing w/my father either. I am not even walking down the aisle w/my dad. My six year old will be walking me down. And I am not doing a father daughter dance. But I am not going to dance w/my six year old either lol.

I think you should gather a couple of songs that you both like and then have him help you pick the one. So that he can have some type of input. but I would do an upbeat song so that it doesn't seem so long.

My dad isn't going to my wedding either and I don't have a brother. I don't know if I'm going to keep the dance or maybe ask my uncle. Either way, I agree with Tina... go with something upbeat and fun. Smiley smile

My dad hasn't been in my life since I was little, and the one that raised me, my grandpa, doesn't dance. So I'm thinking of either asking my uncle or the best man, who's like a brother to me.

Why not trina?! i'm going to dance with mine, he'll only be about 17 months old, but i think he'll enjoy it!!! i've been trying to figure out a song for that....hey miranda, i think the carrie underwood song would be good...i'm trying to think, as i listen to more or less everything lol...i think a song that talks about growing up, would be good, since you obviously grew up together. my son loves when i sing the song "waitin on a woman" to him, so i think that'll be "our" song lol. he's too young to know it now, but it'll definitely get him ready for the future, if i play it enough lol

I'm dancing with both my brother and my dad at my wedding. Long story behind the reasoning, lets just say my brother was a huge influence for me when I was younger. I am most likely going to dance with my brother to... I Turn to You by Christina Aguilera.
