Dancing on the Clouds Hiccup

Brittany, on May 22, 2021 at 12:07 AM Posted in Planning 0 3

So we've booked our venue and DJ. My fiancé loved the dancing on the clouds for our first dance. Unfortunately, our venue doesn't do it due to it being a historical location. Anyone seen dancing on the clouds done outdoors?

Haven’t seen it done outside. But I’m sure the DJ knows best. Hope it all works out!

Former theatre technician here, while I haven’t ever done the effect at a wedding I’ve done my fair share of “low smoke” effects, which is what Dancing on the Clouds is. Outdoors the issue you’re going to have is that any breeze or wind will blow the effect away - if it’s a nice still evening it would probably work, but with any air movement at all it’ll be diminished and the stronger the breeze, the lesser the effect. If you can find a sheltered area, that’ll increase the chances of success but no DJ will tell you it’ll definitely work outside because they can’t predict the weather!
