Dancing on Astroturf?

Christine, on January 22, 2018 at 8:02 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 3
I’m getting anxious trying to fit a dance floor rental in my budget. My reception is in a backyard. There’s no grass, it’s astroturf. I think we don’t REALLY need a dance floor but I was gonna do a waltz with my husband, do you think we can pull it off on AstroTurf?! Smiley cry

Is this backyard someplace where you can go have a practice session? How flat is it? What is below the astroturf, and what shoes are you and your partner going to wear? Are you likely to slip, or puncture through the turf, in your shoes? How complicated is your waltz? I know that is more questions and no answers but there are a lot of variables that will impact how this will go!

It’s a super simple waltz, i would barely call it that. My heels are only 5-6cm and I think the turf is on a flat area but I don’t know what’s under it. I haven’t seen the venue in person. I’m planning a wedding out of state. My best plan right now is to maybe find some AstroTurf locally to decide but I live in the middle of nowhere so it might be a mission lol.
