Dancing at wedding

Shay, on December 15, 2019 at 3:34 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 9
I've only been to 2 weddings in my life, both before the age of 13. I dont remember anything!

We want a fun, relaxed feel wedding. As stress free as possible. My fiance and I are both pretty shy, self conscious individuals. For this reason we were going to cut any type of first dance, fob, mog dances, as well both feel awkward dancing in front of a large group of people.
Have others done this? Did you still have dancing for the guests?Do guests actually want to dance or just feel obligated? We will have music on from a saved playlist we've created. Mostly summer jams but have some slower love songs.

The only wedding I’ve been to where I didn’t want to dance was a Sunday afternoon brunch wedding. And I do it because I think it’s fun, not because I feel obligated.

I think many guests love music is dance but you two are not obligated to do so. I understand cutting any dancing that focuses on you. Every wedding I have been to some dance and some do not.

You could share your dance with all of your wedding party dancing too with their significant others ! But I totally understand — I also love to dance so I don’t mind lol

Aside from the ceremony, my favorite thing about weddings is dancing. I found weddings without dancing boring.

I don't think I've ever been to a wedding without dancing (and I'm older-middle-aged, so I've been to a LOT of weddings). No one we know is a "good dancer," but that's never stopped anyone! Everyone is just out on the dance floor having a great time together. Good luck!

Awe :-(. It will be your only wedding though. Whoever is doing the lighting can make sure you don’t see anyone except eachother. That’s how it went with my hubby and I wedding. I am personally very shy and don’t like big crowds and our lighting person made it comfortable because he worked wiht me on it. I would regret not having those dances

I went to a wedding where there was no dancing. It's fine because people just mingle amongst ttjmeselves

Ive been to weddings where there were no special dances but the guests still danced and enjoyed themselves. I wouldn't worry about it

I've been to two weddings that didn't have dancing, and they were both held in the morning (Saturday brunch). I don't think people expect to get on the dance floor that early in the day.
The first wedding, they didn't even announce when the bride and groom entered the room! As guests, we were disappointed because we definitely wanted to welcome the couple, but that's what they wanted.
