Dances

Ok so Mother & Groom dance... is it a thing? If we do a father daughter dance should we do a mother son dance? Would it be rude to only to one of them and not both?

Mother/son dances are definitely a thing. Whether it would be rude or not to skip it would probably depend on the relationship between the groom and his mom.

Cool thanks. 🙂 I would like to do a mother son dance with my son but my FH definitely doesn’t want to do one with his mom so we’ll probably skip it and just do father daughter.

Both are pretty normal for weddings! A mother-son dance would be very sweet. It's not rude to do one but not another. Everyone's relationships with their parents are different!

We did a combo at our wedding. We choose one song, I danced with my dad and he danced with his mom. Worked out perfectly for us Smiley smile

Ah, I think father and daughter dances are more sentimental since the father has given his daughter away to the husband to start a new life traditionally.

No, it’s not rude to do one and not the other.

Some Fathers: aren’t able to attend for whatever reason or can’t stand up long enough to do a dance.

My PU (Paternal Unit) is not invited. I plan to change into the other 👗during the Mother/Son dance.
