Dances: 1st, father-daughter, mother-son

Hello!

I guess this may seem simple but for some reason I can't figure out how to do this.

So, FH and I will dance together for our fist dance (probably to Sway or Remember When), I will dance with my father (I loved her first) and FMIL will dance with FH (probably Father and Son).

I'm not sure in which order this is usually done since I've only been to 1 wedding!

It is weird to do it the other way around so that I can leave my father to go with FH?

I like to go by the "its your wedding, do what you feel is right" rule, as long as it doesn't compromise being a good host (and in this case it doesn't). However, if I'm understanding correctly, you want to dance with your father first and then your FH (and then mother/son dance after?) ?? It would seem weird to me for you to be introduced and then leave your FH on the sideline while you go dance with your father first. But thats just me. Did you ask your FH his opinion on this?

Every wedding I've gone to the bride and groom go right from their entrance into the first dance, creating a flow...by breaking off with your FH to dance with your dad doesn't seen too cohesive. I've seen dad's "cut in" at the end of the first song and it skips to the father daughter dance

The order you listed is exactly what I did at my wedding. We had a little slideshow video that lead into the music for our first dance. After that song ended my husband stepped off the dance floor and my dad came out to me and we did our dance. Then after that song ended we moved to the side and my husband and his mom came on for there song. The music was just played back to back. No annoucements or anything. People were able to figure out what was going on.
