Is this something he wants? Not trying to sound rude at all, just asking. My fiancé lost both of his parents young. There have been multiple parts of our planning process where he was sad, because his mom won’t be there. I think we are just skipping the part where he dances with someone. I’ve also considered asking him if he was okay with having the dj pull everyone to the dance floor, in her honor, to one of her favorite songs. Maybe your fiancé’s mom had a favorite slow song they could use?

I feel this. My fiance lost his mom a couple years ago and his aunt is standing in. I think he's going to talk to his aunt and let her pick a song that has meaning for them. Not an easy thing for anyone..
