Dance to honor my veteran friends

I don't know of any upbeat wedding song that you could play to celebrate. Everytime I hear one, I get emotional, and I'm a Vet. The only song that doesn't get me as emotional or somber would be "Chicken Friend" by Zac Brown.

Thanks! I thought about that one too... I just don't want them to be the sad or somber emotions... I want them to be happy and know that I love my ladies and that I appreciate everything they have done for me and our country. Thank you for your service!

I second "Chicken Fried", although I would double check with them that they want that recognition. It seems odd from the outside, but there is a huge vet population that don't like attention called to their service publicly, so I would talk to them individually and see if they are OK with that kind of attention. My FH, his best friend/might as well be brother, and his actual brother are all vets, and none of them make a big to-do about it, and actually get uncomfortable when a deal is made about it. Best to check first!

So I did ask and they were both ok with it since it's a smaller wedding (60 people total) ... and that it has to be a non somber song .. they want happy tears ...

We have at least a dozen current military or vets attending our wedding, and since none of them are wearing their uniforms, we won't be calling attention to their service. This includes FH, his father and one of his groomsmen.

I feel like a tad bit of clarification is needed ... it's not just because they're Veterans it's also because the wedding is being held on Nov 11, which is Veterans Day .. and I understand per previous conversation and comments that not every vet is comfortable with this kind of thing, it's my way of honoring my ladies on my special day because it's also a day that is set to pay tribute to them and all other military persons who have served ... I did ask them and they are completely ok with this ... I really just need suggestions on a song now.. and I do appreciate everyone's comments. Thanks

I just want to thank all who posted on here for serving.I think this is a wonderful way of honoring them.

I agree with @EC, make sure they are alright with the recognition. My FH is a vet and absolutely hates being recognized for being a vet, he would be really upset and feel put on the spot by something like that. I love Chicken Fried though, great option. Just make sure anyone in attendance that's a vet wouldn't be uncomfortable by the recognition.
