Dance Song

Olivia, on September 9, 2019 at 12:10 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 3
So my father had been gone since 2009 and for the father/daughter dance at my wedding I want to dance with my uncle who is my dad’s only brother and then I want to invite all the other dad and daughters to the dance floor so that they can have a special dance to remember.

A friend of mine did something similar at her wedding. She lost her dad about 4 months before the wedding, and her mom when she was a child. Her older sister stepped up as MOH to walk her down the aisle and have a "sisters" dance. They didn't pick anything you would traditionally see as a first dance. They rocked out to one of dad's favorite songs and invited all of the family to join them.

Welcome to the WeddingWire community Olivia!

I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your father. It’s such a beautiful idea to invite other fathers and daughters to share this dance with you and your uncle.

Are there any songs that remind you of your dad, or favorite songs of his that you feel you would like to dance to? It could be a special way of honoring him at your wedding.

Is there a certain genre that you would like to stick to? My favorite songs that I thought of for you are In My Life by The Beatles and Wildflowers by Tom Petty.
