Dance on carpet?

lemonEgg, on May 16, 2016 at 9:46 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

My venue is carpeted, does that mean I have to rent a dance floor? How much does something like that cost? Are there any other options? Is it okay to just dance on carpet? It's a small wedding, 50-80 guests

I would rent one. One venue I looked at it was only $100 to rent the dance floor from them. It might be more if you have to rent one from an outside venue.

I agree with the "depends on the carpet." Our church hall is carpeted, but with that really low/tight weaved commercial grade stuff. I attended a wedding there, with dancing, and it didn't seem to be a problem. I would think that most carpeting could trip you up.

Just rent a dance floor if you actually want people to dance. A dance floor just gives a more party vibe. Does your venue not have a dance floor included ?? Our room was carpet and came with a dance floor ...most ballrooms are set up this way ...

Yeah you can't dance on carpet. You need to get a dance floor.

A lot of carpeted vendors will either have one that you can rent from them or should have a list of preferred vendors for dance floor rentals, but I would definitely get a dance floor.

I would talk to the venue and ask them. I'm sure they have had functions there before, and may have one already. My venue has a large dance floor that can be moved anywhere in the room that I want it, and there is plenty of carpet there...So, call them you may not have to spend any more money on the floor.
