Dance in memory of my dad

Fmv, on July 26, 2019 at 9:01 AM Posted in Planning 0 6
So ive been thinking alot lately of what to do for the father daughter dance. My dad passed in 2017.

My older brother will be walking me down the aisle. Hes a very quiet guy and is a man of few words. I originally was going to have him dance with me, but i dont want to put all the preasure on him and I think it would he awkward to dance to entire song with potential crying..i dont want to make him uncomfortable having to be in the spot light for that long.
I saw a video on youtube that a bride had all the important men in her life step in one by one and dance with her. I like that idea, but im wondering is it to depressing?
As a guest, would you sit there and go...omg this is to much?
Or is it to much to ask these men in my life to do this?
Have you gone through this? Any advice would be great?

I also lost my dad in 2011 and have been struggling with this as well. However, I think I have decided that I am going to dance with my grandpa. I don't think your idea is depressing at all and I think it would be very sweet. I personally wouldn't see it as too much, but then again, I would be viewing it from a different set of eyes. Ultimately, its your big day and anyone who knows you will see it as a sweet gesture for your dad.

I think it could be really sweet. The only thing I'd be concerned about is it being super long. I kind of remember the video you're referencing, but don't remember how long each guy danced with her. I think it needs to be absolutely no longer than one song - maybe even shorter - and everyone involved needs to be sure they know the order and when to cut in so the transitions are smooth.

I lost my dad in 2016 and have been trying to decide what to do as well. My brother will be walking me down the aisle and possibly doing a dance with me but I'm not sure about the dance yet. I really like your idea...I think that would be very special!

I lost my Mama , two years ago. I'm playing"Tears in Heaven " by Eric Clapton, in her memory.
    She loved that songSmiley smile

It's important to me to honor her. Just as I'm sure, that it's important to you to honor your Dad.

I think the idea of all of the important men in your life each dancing with you will be wonderful.

If there is crying involved, that's ok. It will be sweet, not depressing at all.

I promise you, your Dad will be there dancing with you the whole time❤

Look for a sign from Heaven, I truly believe, he will make his presence known.

    Hugs to you!

I lost my dad in 2011 and my brother walked me down the aisle and then danced with me to the song from which my dad got his nickname for me (John Denver's "Sunshine on My Shoulders") - there were definitely tears - but it was an extremely sweet moment, and (not that it was the point) we got some great pictures from it.
