Dance floor for sunset beach destination wedding?

Heather, on July 24, 2019 at 9:57 PM Posted in Planning 0 1
We have a Jamaican destination wedding planned in November. The original plan was to include the cheapest basic dancefloor on the beach (through the coordinators) for 1k. We considered adding a stage for 1100 because we have s DJ and a special appearance by my fiance's reggae idol (King Yellowman). Since there will only be 20-22 of us, I decided I could forget the stage to save money. My fiance is all of a sudden worried about cutting back and suggested we dont need a dance floor. I know that my mother and I will be much more comfortable dancing in our dresses on a flat surface but I'm trying to be open-minded for cost reasons. Who out there has had or was a guest at a beach wedding, was there a dancefloor, and how did guests feel about it either way? Need your help to make this decision. Thanks!

Hey Heather! Your wedding sounds really beautiful!! Have you been to Jamaica before? Are you planning on honeymooning there also?

It can be hard when someone changes their mind about something that the other person really wants. Has something happened that your FH is suddenly more conscious of saving money?

I think the best thing to do is to discuss this as a couple, weigh out the pros and cons and air your own opinions. Your FH may not realize how important you feel the dance floor is to you.

Do you feel that you would be able to go ahead with hiring the dancefloor and saving money elsewhere?
