Dad and step dad controversial

Aleaj, on September 2, 2019 at 12:23 AM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 5
Guys, I have a problem. Ok so my step dad asked me if i was going to allow him to walk me down the aisle with my dad, i told him yes, because i didn’t want him to feel left out. BUT I have a really close relationship with my dad and feel like he shouldn’t have to share that special moment with me. Also, I lived with my mom and step dad growing up, but even though we lived in the same house, we did not have a good relationship what so ever. We really built a relationship in the past year. However, my dad has always been in my life and we’ve always had an awesome relationship. I don’t want to hurt my step dads feelings, since i already told him yes. What should i do?!

You could have your step dad walk you halfway down the aisle and your dad finish the walk and give you away?

Wait so you already told your stepdad yes and your bio dad is under the assumption he’s walking you down the aisle too? But you don’t want them both to do it?

If you want your bio dad to do it alone, apologize and tell your stepdad you answered in haste but offer for him to do a reading or toast.

My dad is automatically expecting to walk me down the aisle, and i told him that my step dad wanted to walk me down the aisle with him. At first he disagreed then he said he didn’t care.

The toast is a good idea too, thank you!

Having each one walk you halfway is a good compromise. I'm sorry you're having this dilemma!
