I'm getting married outside in the woods- the reception will be at the same location. My dress has a small-mid length train. (maybe 2 ft). I am leaning more and more towards getting it cut off instead of just bustling. Any of you getting a train cut off (professionally altered) or bustling for the entire wedding? Im not sure i have ever been to a wedding where the bride bustled for the entire event. But im also worried about a train dragging on the ground. There isnt a lot of grass, so once i step off the aisle runner, the ground is dirt.

You should be fine to have it hemmed to floorlength just like the front they are going to have to do a lot of work on the lace around the bottom. I can't see very well is the bottom lace Sewn on or as a part of the original fabric? If it is part of the fabric then no.

My seamstress is doing a different kind of bustle that isn't french or english. It actually tucks under the dress so it looks like there is no train at all.

Good lord, I HATE bustles... I am cutting the dress to ballerina length (a hair above the ankle.)
