Cutting guest list

People will NOT block you because they were not invited to your event.

If they do, are you really going to be completely devastated?

I didn’t invite a lot of people. It’s just just not logically or logistically possible to invite everyone that you’ve ever met.

You should only invite people that are supportive of your union.

Some people just do not need to be in attendance to such an intimate part of your life.

I would recommend NOT posting Wedding related things to social media.

Or, restrict it to only those that are invited. You can either make a group chat or exclude who can see the posts.

on a separate thought, I had to make a very public post on Facebook to both of our families and friends saying that the venue seating was limited and I could only have so many of even our closest family and friends attend. I only have 3 groups of guests flying in (his grandparents, my grandmother, and his sister who will be MOH). Once I broke it down to everyone that we had to be frugal on our guest count they got it. We haven’t sent save the dates or invitations yet because we are a little over a year out so I’m sure as it gets closer the family members who were trying to give me crap on that post will give me crap again. But if their not helping pay then they don’t get a say. Good luck to you, hopefully people won’t be too crazy to you lol.

Girl I feel you. I went to a co-workers wedding last week and she invited our ENTIRE office (like at least fifty people), but it's because they didn't have any family to invite. So now everyone at our office assumes they're also invited to MY wedding. One guy asked me where we were having it and I told him it was thirty minutes outside of town and he scoffs and says "why couldn't you make it local?". I was seriously shocked and said "that's pretty local in my opinion, not to mention the venues in town are 5-10k more than ours?" (like dude are you gonna pay for my wedding?). Then another coworker said "well is it at least on a weekend?" (the wedding we were at was on a Wednesday night). I said "yes, it's on a Sunday afternoon.". SHE LITERALLY ROLLED HER EYES and said "omg why wouldn't you have it on a Saturday"

I decided against giving save the dates to the few people from the company I am inviting (three + their spouses, who I've actually seen outside of work besides my boss) because I didn't want to deal with word going around of others who didn't get them. FH said "might as well let them know they aren't invited now so they can get over it"

People will understand, after all it is YOUR day.

I had to cut some people (even family) because I 1) didn't want to deal with drama on MY day and 2) I just didn't have space!

I want my day (which is 18 days away!!!) to be with close friends and family, not just anyone and everyone.
