My husband loves hockey so one of my vows was I promise to cheer with you when the Devil's win and comfort you when they lose. I also love cuddling and singing so another funny line in my vows was I promise to cuddle with you as often as possible and serenade you on car rides even if they are only ten minutes long.

The penguins are the hockey team for Pittsburgh, PA. I am from Pennsylvania so that's one reason I know that plus since my husband loves hockey so I think you could totally use the same vow as I did, but change it to penguins. I also think you could include about your random dance parties. I know it took me awhile to come up with my vows. I watched sample vows on Youtube and looked up ones on Google.

So far with our vows I’ve just been writing a bunch of one lines and I’ll eventually put my favorites together 😅

My husband loves when I lightly scratch his back while he falls asleep. He calls it cratching. So I am going to say I vow to cratch your back every night.

Here are some that I found online when writing my vows, and thought these were mildly entertaining:

"I vow to make sure I'm not just hungry before I yell"
"I promise to share the covers and leave some hot water for you."
"I promise to not brag too much when your hockey team loses to mine" (my fiance and I are both hockey fans, and our favorite teams are rivals, so this one especially stuck out to me)

We wrote our own vows, and both of us ended up centering them on our shared passions - theatre and the Phillies. (We are, apparently, absolute suckers for misery.)

The Phillies had gotten absolutely SHELLED by the Marlins the night before the wedding, so I adlibbed a line about that. DH wrote into his vows: "I had never met anyone who loved our team as much as I do - or, depending on the day, hated them as much as I do." (This got a HUGE laugh.) He also promised pasta... and to let me keep beating him up on stage (a running joke in our relationship).

The thing about writing your own vows, is to make them as much about the two of you as you are comfortable sharing in public.

Those who know you well will find these things both hilarious and deeply touching.

We said, "I promise not to judge you, even when you're being weird." Everyone laughed. We wrote ours together, but we really each wrote a bunch of them and then the week before the wedding we went through all of them, looked at which themes kept coming up, chose five and rewrote them so they sounded good together.
