Custom masks!

Tiffany, on July 9, 2020 at 2:50 AM Posted in Planning 0 7
I’m getting married next June and although as time passes Im hopeful people will become more comfortable in attending social events, but I am also aware a pandemic lasts a couple of years so I’m sure masks will still be a thing next year. So I would like to order cute custom masks for FH and I....any ideas?

That sounds like an Etsy purchase, for sure.

Unless you have the time and energy to sew a bunch of masks yourself... which I wouldn't recommend. Too much DIY!

I think you're a bit premature in purchasing / having masks made for a wedding a year away. So much can change between now and then and for all we know (which isn't much) so much can change over night. I'd look at ordering them or having them made yourself closer to your date.

Our wedding is in October and while I've purchased our cloth masks for the wedding (just purchased based on the state's guidelines for mask wearing) - I will not customize them until closer to the date in case they are no longer mandated.

I've customized our own logo and will have do the work myself - it shouldn't take more than a couple hours in total.

Depending on where you live, you may or may not be able to guess whether you'll be required to wear a mask next June, but I'm in MA, and I'm pretty confident masks will still be a thing here next June. So, I definitely don't think it's too early to think about them! For our August 2020 wedding, my fiancè ordered an extra tie to match the bow tie he's going to wear, and I used it to make a mask for him. I made a bridal-looking one for myself, but I'm hoping the seamstress will save the extra fabric from my dress so I can make one that matches better out of it. I also made masks for all of our guests so they'll be nicely coordinated in photos.

Sounds like a waste of money to me. You don't know what will happen next year.

Masks don’t take much time to make so I can definitely gauge as the time gets closer if it is deemed necessary, but my state has held off on proceeding to phase 3 indefinitely and although Idk what next year looks like and things change nearly everyday, I definitely would want to be prepared JUST in case as with everything else.
