Please don't go that route. I ordered a wedding gown to put in my bridal boutique and the gown was nothing like the photo. I would hate to see you get your hopes up, then not have enough time to get another gown. Plus it does take about a month to two months to get it in the mail.

I bought mine from ebay and I LOVED it. It was very close to a style I tried on at davidsbridal and was $500 cheaper. Yes the material is not as good and bead work was not as good. But I look at it like this.....It looks awesome in pictures and every thinks its pretty. I dont need a dress that is stitched so well you could wear it everyday- I needed a beautiful gown for 1 day, actually just a few hours. I am a plus size gal and it was made to MY measurements...a custom job that they did a wonderful job at. If you are a budget bride or a women not having daddy pay and it's all coming out of your pocket and you don't wanna be hosed on a one day wear. I say go for it- Mine is so wonderful! The bining is great and no weird smell or stains. I love it.

I have worked in bridal boutiques making gowns and in alterations. I'm currently studying the diploma fashion design. My teacher is a pattern engineer who studied 1000's and 1000's of australian womens body shapes and types. Lois Hennes (my teacher) and Kath berry have written a text book that's over 10cm thick of how to personalise a custom block(pattern) to an individuals specific measurements and body type. There are 5 different body types an x type, I type, H, XH and A. totally different construction ways for each body type . You have to understand that YOU send the measurements to these makers on ebay. Each person takes measurements differently and it takes alot of practice to do it evenly, straight and right! and only the person who takes the measurements their own way knows how to make it perfectly to those measurements...also, every dressmaker gets you in for a fitting to fix any problems early on instead of waiting until the dress is complete than taking it to get altered

I hope this helps anyone getting their dress made to measurements overseas as you can't be there for a fitting. And you can't blame them it's not there fault, they've made it to the measurements YOU sent them!!
