Custom domain wont forward

Sarah, on September 22, 2016 at 2:17 PM Posted in Account Support 0 6

I'm getting extremely frustrated with setting up the wedding website. I purchased a custom domain to forward to my WW site and it just gives me nothing but issues. In the support section it has a contact number to talk to someone at Go Daddy and the phone number doesn't even work. I have tried sending emails to both WW and Go Daddy but have heard nothing back. I need to get my save the dates out and I want to include our custom domain on them so people can learn more info because our STDs are very small and simple with not much room for info. Every time I try to go to my custom URL, it says there is an error code 404. I'm ready to delete my WW completely if I can't get help on this.

Wait so you purchased a custom domain from an outside site and you're going to delete your WW site because the custom domain isn't working? Why blame WW for that?

Hi Sarah! You contacted our support team 2 hours ago, and I apologize but they just can't get to everyone that quickly! The support team responds to everything within 24-48 hours.

I'll try looking into this right now to see what I can find out!

So I intercepted your support case and tried using your custom domain and it works, forwards to your WW website no problem for me! If it isn't working on your end I suggest clearing your history and cache, make sure you're using the most up to date version of your internet browser, and Chrome works best as a browser!

In general with a custom domain, if your WW website is working properly (which yours is), then the issue lies with the domain forwarding and you'll have to trouble-shoot with Go Daddy. It sounds like you already found the support article that goes through the steps, but I've linked it again here:
