Cup/bra options

Ali, on July 25, 2019 at 5:37 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13
Hi everyone
So I went for my second dress fitting. After the first one the seamstress recommended adding cups as I'm a D cup and needed some lift. Now that they are in I feel like my chest is all people see. Feeling a little self conscious.
Should I ask her to take them out?
What are other options other than cups that you have seen?

Add a topper if you feel like your chest is all people see. It'll draw the eye upward.

I think it looks fantastic!! You also will probably appreciate the support that the cups add considering all the dancing you’ll be doing!

I think it looks great on you, but I understand how you feel- a couple dresses I tried on made me feel the same way before even adding pads to give my DDs some lift. You’ll have your hair and make up done too, so right now you’re not seeing your full look all together. Are you wearing any headpiece or statement jewelry that will draw the eye? I’m not familiar with the other options as far as alterations, definitely talk to your seamstress about your concerns!

You are gorgeous! If you want less boobs you could maybe do a little sheer panel in the neckline to bring it up or take the cups out but I feel like it's perfect. I think if you do your hair or even a veil it'll be perfect

When you look down all you see is boob, but when people look straight on you, it looks balanced. As someone who has a large chest, I frequently think I am more exposed looking down than in a mirror

I think you look amazing! Rock the gifts you have! (While I crossing my fingers to have SOME kind of cleavage in my gown 🤣)

I've got s similar situation and I added straps. Really does work to break up that look/feeling. You look good in your dress the way it is

I feel you, I'm a DDD or F depending on where I go! I think I would feel like that too, like the clevage is a real eye grabber. I don't think it's too bad but if you aren't comfortable, then change it if you can

I wear a DD and have been freaking a bit about this too, BUT I think it looks great on you. Really the shiny thing is your dress so of course the eye is drawn there. As PPs have said, it will balance itself a lot more when you're all done up. I would not recommend removing the cups, you will want that support throughout the day. If you really feel uncomfortable, try a piece of sheer fabric to cover the V. It may be just the right touch to give you your confidence in the dress back.
