Crystal bead bouquets?

Catie, on November 24, 2012 at 7:08 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 13

Hai there!

I was wondering if any of you have made crystal bead bouquets or If any of you plan on doing that? I saw a tutorial on it and I love the look, but it doesn't tell you how many beads you should get or how much wire you need. I don't want to order too much or too little! Sorry for not posting a picture if you haven't seen them, but the mobile site doesn't give you the option to upload a pic! Smiley smile

Is this what you had in mind? Using brooches to form a bouquet?

    Here's a link to a tutorial:

The kind I am thinking of look like fireworks! I wish I could post a picture. They all seem to have maybe 30 or so strands of twisted wire with a single bead at the end. I am just not sure how much to buy, how many beads come in a strand, etc. I never even thought to look on YouTube! Off to do that now, haha.

Great... good luck. I'm sure there must be a video on that one.

These look really cool. I think I may make 1 or 2 for decorations.

Yes! Aren't they cool? Our colors are going to be red and black so I think that beads of those color would look awesome. I love flowers, but I think this suits our wedding better. Plus, I read one review and she made something like 7 bouquets and 13 corsages (sorry if my spelling is horrible) for under $100.00. I'm down with that!

Crystal beaded bouquets are exquisite! I assume you're using acrylic "crystal like" beads as an entire genuine crystal bouquet would be expensive. Just an idea, when you're ordering your supplies, why not consider buying some Swarovski crystal beads and wire so that you can place a few throughout the finished product (a little goes a long way). Nothing picks up the light like real crystal, and a few well placed stones could really enhance the final product (they're not all that expensive if you don't order tons of them). Plus, they come in every color imaginable -- including the conventional clear.

Just a thought. Please post the pic when you're done. I'd love to see it.

Yes!! That is exactly what I am talking about! Isn't it beautiful!! When I finally order the stuff and put them together, I will post pictures and describe the process! They say it is a pain when you first start doing them but that they get easier after the first one.

I was searching the web... there are crystal garlands and other pre-wired pieces you could also purchase. From looking closer at the example I posted, it looks like you could use those crystal garlands and wire them in bunches. Maybe even using a few brooches wired together. I'm thinking of making one but with different colors.
