Crying during vows?!

Allie, on August 28, 2022 at 3:13 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 5
I just finished writing my vows and I literally sobbed the whole time. Tips on how to recite them without being an emotional mess? 😅

The only thing that stopped me from sobbing as I read my vows was laughing. I also cry whenever I have intense emotions of any kind so it is more of a practiced skill than I would like to admit. 😅

Thankfully, we are just sharing our vows to each other and the only witness will be our photographer. I’m an ugly crier though. 😂

Practice in the shower. Like daily. Repetition will help lessen the heightened emotions of the words themselves. And in the shower cuz then if you're interrupted or have something to do directly after it won't be as obvious that you were just crying 😅

Best advice I can offer is repetition. Maybe read them to yourself in the mirror over and over so you get used to it? You can also try recording yourself reading them and maybe it either won't look so bad or it'll inspire you to try to keep it together? If it's any consolation, I'm sure I'll be a mess doing mine too 😅
