Crying during first dance?

Emily, on January 10, 2020 at 2:52 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7
Hey y’all-

I have a dumb question for you guys.
My FH and I were listening to song we wanted to potentially have our first dance to(Louis Armstrong, frank sinatra, etc) and we couldn’t make it through any of the songs with crying because it makes us think about one another.

I can already imagine how we’re both going to be bawling throughout the ceremony. And when I cry, let me tell you, it’s not pretty. I can barely speak. I’m not sure how I’m going to be able to read my vows.

How did or do you think you will hold yourself together throughout the day??

You don’t. It’s an emotional time and the biggest day of your life! It’s okay to cry, i wouldn’t hide or try to control your feelings so much throughout the day.

We went to a wedding recently and the bride could not make it through her vows because she was crying. She'd get a few sentences out and then cry. lol We all laughed (including her) because it was sweet. Don't worry about thatSmiley smile Nobody will judge the fact that you are emotional on your wedding day! Just enjoy itSmiley heart

Let yourself be emotional! If you're really worried about your vows though, practice them over and over to make them become more second nature so you don't have to think about them too much while you read them on the big day. But don't be embarrassed if you cry! It just shows how much your FH means to you Smiley heart

I’m a HUGE crier, and expected to be sobbing all day, but with all the adrenaline that day, I only really teared up once!

Girl, ME TOO. I'm going to be a sobbing mess through it allllll. I think it's super cute, and exactly what the day is meant for! I cry at everyone's wedding, during possible first dance songs, everything. You're not alone! There's absolutely no way I'll be able to hold it together. So I'll be ugly crying, hyperventilating, the whole 9, during my vows LOL

I would get super emotional about any time that I heard a romantic song, lol the day of our wedding I started choking up a little when I began to read my vows but I looked at my husband good and hard. After that, everything felt lighter and came out easy. Our first dance was amazingly fun and we laughed more than ever that night. Now I can't listen to 2 songs without completely tearing up (song that played when ceremony ended & 1st dance song) but that night my smile was bigger than ever!

I was sweaty hands and nervous until I was with my man again and all of my fears were gone.
