Cruise or Trip to Disney

Bride to be & Future Mrs. E, on December 7, 2014 at 3:47 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 19

My fiancé and I cannot decide which we want to do. We wanted to go on a disney cruise for our honeymoon but there aren't any available the week after our wedding. So we are deciding between a week trip to disney or a 4 day cruise to the Bahamas. Any suggestions?

A nice cruise would probably be more affordable than one-week stay at a nice Disney resort or nearby hotel, if that's a factor.

We are going to Disney World for our Honeymoon. I wanted to do a Disney Cruise (not for HM just in general) but right now the cruises are all frozen related everything, which I didn't want.

Why not take a cruise and do a couple days at Disney? We did this last year, with our then 5 year old, and it was a good way to incorporate something for everyone. We rented a car in MIA and drove down to Orlando.

Thanks for all of your advice. The cruise is going to be a lot cheaper for us. We've been to disney for a few days already and had so much fun that's why I wanted to possibly do it again but we also thought about trying something new (I've never been on a cruise)

Both are great choices, Cruising can be a lot of fun, and Disney as well of course! It's your honeymoon so do what you two want to do. You could do a bit of both to be honest. I just had some clients leave after their wedding, go on a 4 night cruise and then spend 3 nights in Disney, they had a blast! It can all be arranged, no worries..

Congrats and feel free to reach out to me anytime, I'm happy to help.

    Love more...Dream more....Travel more.... Kelly

Cruise....to me (even though I know there adult places to go) spending my honeymoon at Disney with kids and families running around doesn't sound too romantic.

I have been on Disney cruises three times. I would wait till you have children to experience it. Which ships are you looking at? I would recommend a 4 -6 night Caribbean Cruise vs Bahamas. You can normally get a better ship on that route.

Personally, I do not want to be around a bunch of kids on my honeymoon haha so I would definitely opt for the cruise.

DH and I just got back from a Disney World honeymoon and we loved it. There are a lot of places where you don't see kids. It really just depends on what you prefer. Personally I don't like a vacation when you just lay out and drink or read, I like to have activities so Disney World worked well for us.

Cruise!!! We went on a 7 day Caribbean cruise for our HM and it was seriously the best week of our life. Months later we still talk about all the fun stuff we did and how all around perfect it was. I will also suggest doing Caribbean vs. just Bahamas, don't know what stops you'd make in the Bahamas but ours stopped in Nassau which we ended up being disappointed with. It was the one place we for sure wanted to go and when we got there we didn't enjoy it as much as our other stops. Our favorite was St. Thomas, USVI which we knew nothing about and is now on our list of places to go back to. The best part in my opinion about cruises is that there is so much to do so you get a bit of everything. Plenty of time to relax both on and off the ship, nightlife on the ship, and exploring and shore excursions wherever you stop. oh an less kids than Disney lol

We love cruising! In fact that's our plan for the HM as well. I've also been to Disney before. Unless you two are super set on Disney, I'd do the cruise. I've actually done the four day Bahamas cruise. I'm not a big fan of Freeport, but I enjoyed Nassau. Where are you leaving from? Maybe we could give you itinerary suggestions.

We're going to go to Disney World and Universal for our honeymoon. Originally we were just going to go to Universal for the Wizarding World, but my fiance has never been to the Disney in Orlando and I am in love with the Haunted Mansion. We'll be going in October so it won't be so busy PLUS we get to see it decorated for Halloween!

Who said a honeymoon had to be directly after your wedding? You are considered "honeymooners" a year after your wedding... go on the cruise that you want when they have it and its convenient for your, don't worry about making it adjacent to your wedding. IMHO, having your honeymoon a few months after your wedding makes it a whole lot less stress, cause that way you really don't have to plan your honeymoon until after the wedding. Up until the wedding, you can just focus on the wedding..
