Cruise: Carnival or Royal Caribbean?

Stacy, on May 21, 2017 at 3:24 AM

We've been on a 5 day and an 8 day cruise with Carnival and loved it. Opinions on which is better? Based on our wedding date, the Oasis class (Harmony or Allure) is what we would take for Royal Caribbean. For Carnival, it's either Miracle or Magic.

How is the steak on RC? The steak on Carnival was terrible. They didn't even ask FH how he wanted it cooked.

I've been on Carnival and NCL, but can't comment on RC.

Out of those two, I liked Carnival the best

WE went on a cruise a couple of years ago out of Miami. We took RC it was awesome!

On our way to the terminal we were talking to our driver about what he hears as far as the different cruise lines and which are the best, he said Royal Caribbean or Norwegian. We are going on Norwegian for our Honeymoon.

One thing for sure make sure you get the drink package whichever line you choose.

Harmony and Allure are both newer ships with amazing features. If celebrity is on the table, check them out too. I loved the service, low percentage of kids onboard, and all around classy decor (not to mention it was PRISTINE).

Carnival ships have always seemed rather tasteless in their decor/demeanor with their neon lighting everywhere. When I go on vacation I go to relax, not party 24/7.

I was looking more into the ships. RC has a 3D theater, ice skating rink, and rock climbing. That sounds awesome! The Carnival ships, age wise, Miracle was built in 2004 (renovated in 2015) and is a smaller ship without some of the food places we loved and no theater. Magic was built in 2011 (renovated in 2016) and had the food that we loved and a theater.

Thank you Stacy and Ashley, very helpful. I'll probably opt out of buying a package since fh doesn't drink. But those drinks are expensive individually. I won't drink all day, but I would like to have a couple a day if I so choose.

We decided check out Celebrity too. Tere is only one cruise for our date send its on Celebrity Edge.. brand new ship. It isn't even done being built. It looks very relaxing, but I'm not finding much info about it or the entertainment.
