Cricut for wedding invitations

Jessica, on December 15, 2019 at 6:20 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 9
Has anyone used their Cricut to make invitations and envelopes? Is it cheaper than going through a printing company?
I realize it’s definitely more time consuming but we have a good amount of time before they need to be sent. I have a cricut and so does my future mother in law! Just wondering if it’s worth the trouble!

I am also going to try and make our invitations on my cricut. We ordered pockets from cardsandpockets.com, and I'm going to make envelope liners from some really pretty patterned paper I found. I'm looking for a good template for the invite itself, because i want cutout flowers on them instead of colored flowers. The backing is going to be silver, so I want that to show through in the cutouts.

Thanks for that website! Etsy has some files- if you find one you like they will probably tweak it however you want it! Hope that helps you. Smiley smile

    Thanks again!!

Hey Jessica!! If DIYing your invitations is something that you want to do and you are comfortable with the amount of work that it entails, then great! Do you do a lot of DIY projects with your Cricut?

If you're really into DIY stuff, then you should try doing your invitations with a Cricut. I didn't do my own since I had so much other stuff to focus on, but you said that you have a good amount of time before they need to be sent. Before committing to DIY you should really consider how tedious making your own invitations can be, especially if you are planning to invite a lot of people. While the cost is less than ordering them from a card printing company, I wanted to focus on other things like the flowers, food, decorations, and dresses/suits for people in the party. We used Magnet Street for our cards and they weren't super expensive, and I felt like I had a lot of control to make it feel more "us": https://www.magnetstreet.com/wedding-invitations

We have a little under a year. So I was thinking with that we could get it done but I just wasn’t sure if it was more of a pain! Also, sometimes when you do something to save money it either isn’t worth what you save or it comes out to about the same lol
I don’t use my cricut as much as my future mother in law but thought maybe between our 2 we could knock it out!

Thank you! It was so much cheaper than anything else I looked at..and that includes buying a printer and ink.
