I'd recommend against taking out a loan/CC for the wedding expenses. It's very hard to start a marriage in debt.

Credit card limits are based on your income and on your credit score, so it really depends on your financial circumstances. However, as Jacks said, it is really not recommended to use a credit card to finance your wedding if you are not able to cover those payments in cash. Whatever you would be spending, you would also be accruing interest on, and CC interest is high. So you’d actually be paying significantly more than the actual costs of the wedding. Financial issues are also the leading cause of divorce, so you don’t want to be starting your marriage off on that foot.

There are other posts about best cards to accrue points. But, if you are looking to pay a large portion of your wedding on credit, many vendors take cash/ check/ debit only e.g., venue, photographer. Maybe you can put wedding attire and cake on credit? Something to consider while you plan. Many couples have longer engagements to save for the wedding they want. I, myself, wanted to get it done sooner using only the $ we had saved already. Best wishes with planning.

This doesn't answer my question. I know how credit cards work.

This doesn't answer my question. I know how credit cards work. I don't care if financial issues can lead to divorce for some couples. I'm already in debt and can manage my finances well enough. I just wanted recommendations for a credit card. If you don't have suggestions I don't need the spiel on the interest or potential financial issues in a marriage.

Thank you for letting me know about how some people or places don't accept credit. I will remember to ask them that. Unfortunately, I've already booked dates and paid deposits and can't back up out without losing money so I just wanted suggestions on credit cards that have worked for people. thank you for your answer.

Regardless, credit card limits are dependent on your credit score and income, so no one can tell you what credit cards offer high limits because limits are determined by factors unique to the individual applying for the credit card. Therefore, no one can really answer the question you asked. Best bet is to look at options through major banks that have low interest rates and maybe cash back or other perks.

I just wanted to know if people had any good experience with any cards so I can narrow down my search. that's all. I know it depends on credit score.

Do you though? If you're having trouble financing the guest list that you have, it seems more appropriate to just ask for help in cutting expenses.

Excuse me? You're making assumptions based on my simple question about credit cards that people would generally recommend. You know nothing about my situation.

If anyone responds from now on, please just answer the question. I don't need unsolicited advice about finances based on assumptions or statistics, please.

I can't seem to delete this post but from now on I don't need any more responses, so please ignore it. I found better answers elsewhere.

Discover and Amex. But it really depends on your credit score.

I think it’s ok to finance your wedding on credit cards as long as you pay them off monthly to maintain your credit score and low debt to income ratio. That’s what we did.
