Creative Guest Book Ideas

I'd love to hear your ideas for a creative guest book alternative we could do at our wedding. I know you can get those ones where you drop the little wooden hearts in or do the lovebirds in a tree or whatever, but I wonder if I can pick your brains for more ideas. We both love books (I'm a librarian) and our wedding is literature themed (he proposed Lord of the Rings style so...) and we both play a lot of musical instruments and love our cats. Plus we're massive nerds. But I want this to be something nice we can keep on our wall forever.

Any thoughts? Anyone else do an alternative guest book? Thanks!

(typing this, ironic, I know, the librarian doesn't want a book for once in her life lol, but that book's just going to sit on a shelf and never get looked at)

I've heard of people using a bible to have people highlight their favorite bible verses and sign in there. I don't know how you feel about people writing in books if you're a librarian haha BUT if your FH proposed LOTR style, you could have a copy of LOTR and have everyone sign in the margins or in their favorite chapters if they've read the book and that way if you choose to read it (or read it again?) you'll think about your wedding day. And I think that'd be something cool to pass down if you choose to have kids. Or you could choose a different book that you guys both like or means something to you. Even though it will sit on a shelf, it's definitely something cool that will last forever and you might not always want something hanging on your wall that has a bunch of signatures on it.

My best friend got a canvas of a peacock (her wedding theme) and each feather on its tail has space for a thumb print and is having her guests stamp their thumb instead of using a traditional guestbook. Like you, she wanted something to hang on her wall afterwards.

Our flowers are sunflowers and roses. I'll be painting this, and then having the guests sign it in a black paint marker!

FH is a big hunter, and I thought this deer canvas was so cute! We’re getting a family friend to paint it for us, and all the guests will leave their thumbprint on the antlers. We’re planning on having 150-175 people at the wedding so I’m not sure how we’ll fit all the thumbprints on here, but we’ll probably add more antlers or something.

I went to Zazzle.com and created a custom blank puzzle that our guests can sign! I think it was around $12 and then shipping brought it up to $18. It just came in the mail and looks awesome! We plan on putting it together and taping the back of it for our wedding day and then laying out a few sharpies for our guests. Only thing I'm worried about is putting a blank puzzle together lol

Etsy has amazing ideas for wall art. We opted for the wooden signature board and are putting our picture in it.

I’m doing the letter! I actually bought the 2 foot letter from ac Moore with a coupon, then got a sample can of stain from Home Depot. It only cost me $15 so far. I have a friend with a circuit who is cutting my wedding date in white vinyl to put on the bottom. It’s coming out perfectly!

Well originally our plan was to get a nice wood slab (side table side) and have people sign it and bring it to my job and have them finish it and put legs on it so we can have a side table. My job is selling wood (live edge slabs, tables, exotic hardwood for decks and docks and siding and what not). BUT this is kind of out of our budget right now so I started looking at a BIG tree picture and people put a finger print on the branches and then sign their names and I have also seen the idea of the Polaroid pictures I really want to do. You put out the name placements on like close pins but before they can take their seats they have to replace the card with a Polaroid picture. I think this would be super cool and kind of nostalgic!

Something like this- then put them in a book down the road. Creative Guest Book Ideas 8

Here is our guestbook. We bought gold and bronze sharpies for everyone to use to sign their name. We bought it during a sale at Hobby Lobby for I think $12.

This is awesome! We are also UFC fans. My husband proposed last year when we went to Chicago to watch fights. We didn’t really do anything fight related for our wedding, but we did take some of our engagement pics with our boxing gloves. I honestly liked them more than the traditional pics.
