Creating your guest List

Mia, on May 3, 2020 at 8:18 AM Posted in Planning 0 8

This has probably been the hardest part for me, but has anyone discovered a "secret recipe" to gathering all of the family and friends info for head count/invitations invites?

Gosh, if only there was! We had to reach out to everyone individually and it took some time. The good thing is we had plenty of info from when we sent Christmas cards last year, so that helped.
We basically created an excel sheet and listed everyone from our guest list, and as they responded with their addresses we’d punch them in.

We split the responsibility of gathering addresses. I got them from my list, he got them for his, and we enlisted our parents in getting them for family friends/ some relatives. If someone was recently married, you can get some info from them. My SIL got engaged after we did, so I sent her the Excel spreadsheet with all the info for their side of the family/friends to give her a head start. As far as headcount, do you mean who will attend? If so, then that's what the RSVP part of the invitation is for. Unfortunately, there's no secret way to know who will come or not until after the invitations have been sent.

We mostly texted and occasionally FB messenged, One of the awkward parts was asking for the significant other's names in some cases (college professors we wanted to invite, parents friends). I usually creeped their social media to try to find out. We put everything on an excel spreadhseet - which is awesome bc I also used the count function to keep track of our numbers. Hopefully someday I'll get the chance to mail them out lol......., *#%$ covid!
