Cream cheese mints

Michelle, on February 12, 2021 at 1:49 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 11

Do people still serve these or is it part of a bygone era?

I haven’t seen these at a wedding for several years, but I sure wish I had! They are my absolute favorites!

Usually peppermint flavored but can be any flavor and often match the wedding colors. They used to be a staple at weddings until the early 2000s.

I remember these were displayed/served at a wedding I was a flower girl in back in the 90's. Doesn't mean they're not still out there, I just haven't seen them.

A friend of mine just did these a few years ago. I think they're still pretty common in DIY/Rustic circles. The problem is a lot of venues now are particular about what you bring in. A lot don't allow homemade food to come in because there's no guarantee that it's been prepared to proper food and safety standards.

They don't have to be homemade. Many bakers offer non cake options

I have never even heard of these. Are they a regional thing?

I’d say that they’re certainly more uncommon these days.

My grandma makes them for EVERY (and I do mean every) family event (graduations, weddings, family reunions). I'm not a huge fan but my FH likes them. Our venue doesn't allow outside food (except sweets from a licensed baker). She asked if there was a way she still could and when I asked the venue coordinator she said if it was in a container for favors it should be fine. So the week of the wedding I'm going to her house to help her make a bunch (her smile was huge when I asked).

    That is so sweet!
I do love those mints. I rarely have them but it’s a nice surprise when I spot them at an event.
Remember the candy coated almonds? They used to be at every wedding back...way back LOL
